The board offers two ways to cool the cpu in windows. You can use the die temps or the package temps.
If you select package temps the cooling will work far harder all of the time. In windows this is not necessary.
If your gaming on the other hand, it is wise to set the fans to full power before starting the game. Otherwise you will hit 98degrees plus.
This has caused my pc to shut down once. Since then I have lowered the cpu usage in windows to 99%.
Both this and the fans running at full speed kept the package around 60degrees.
So watch your package temps when using this board as this could of been the reason the first 4 or 5 BIOS updates still burnt cpus.
I'm using a 7800X3D.
I'm interested to hear of others experience using this board with the latest BIOS 1705.
