Introduction

It has been a few months of nothing in our Watercooling review category, mostly because there hasn't been many new developments in this field. As such, I appreciated the recent opportunity to test the Alphacool Core 1 and then immediately something else landed from Phanteks. As a teaser of what's coming up, let's just say we have some GPU water block reviews coming up real soon. Before then though let's do one more CPU block review in the form of the recently announced Phanteks C370I.


The new Glacier C370I is at least two updates newer compared to the older Phanteks Glacier 350i reviewed in 2018. We see that Phanteks has retained the general design language of the block as well as having separate versions for Intel and AMD CPU platforms. The I in 370I indicates I have the Intel version which comes in two color options of black or white, with the latter costing $10 more. Aesthetics aside, both blocks should perform identically so this review of the white Glacier C370I should also be representative of the less expensive black version for those wondering. Both variants go for a clear top with integrated RGB lights as seen from the image above, thus allowing the end user to opt for colored coolant and/or lighting via the LEDs inside for further customization.
