The OCZ Vertex 450 was a solid-state drive in the 2.5" form factor, launched on May 23rd, 2013, that is no longer in production. It was available in capacities ranging from 128 GB to 512 GB. This page reports specifications for the 128 GB variant. With the rest of the system, the OCZ Vertex 450 interfaces using a SATA 6 Gbps connection. The SSD controller is the Barefoot 3 M10 IDX500M10-BC from Indilinx, a DRAM cache chip is available. OCZ has installed MLC NAND flash on the Vertex 450, the flash chips are made by Micron. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are soaked up more quickly. The Vertex 450 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 525 MB/s and 290 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 75K for reads and 70K for writes.
The SSD's price at launch is unknown. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. OCZ guarantees an endurance rating of 22 TBW, a relatively low value compared to other SSDs.
