The Kingspec XF Series is a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched on June 7th, 2022. It is available in capacities ranging from 512 GB to 1 TB. This page reports specifications for the 1 TB variant. With the rest of the system, the Kingspec XF Series interfaces using a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 connection. The SSD controller is the TC2200 Merak from TenaFE, a DRAM cache is not available. Kingspec has installed TLC NAND flash on the XF Series, the flash chips are made by Unknown. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are absorbed more quickly. Thanks to support for the fast PCI-Express 4.0 interface, performance is excellent. At its launch, the SSD was priced at 100 USD. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. The TBW rating for the Kingspec XF Series 1 TB is unknown.
