New driver installation.

Hey I was just about to install the new 181.22 drivers and realized that every time I install new ones, when I reboot I always have to re-arrange my desktop icons.
Well they mess up in the middle of the installation really, because it changes my resolution for a second for some reason...

is there anyway around this??

No because when u do a driver install, it uninstalls ur old driver which causes ur computer to blink to VGA mode (800x600) then reblink back when driver installs complete.

I have been using a free little utility called "Icon Restore" on every computer I've owned in the last 4 years. It's free, and very very simple. Just drag your icons where you like them, right click on "my computer", and select "save desktop icon layout". If things get messed up later you just select "restore desktop icon layout", and Bingo, everything is back where you want it. Saves loads and loads of time. And I have been using it on Win2K, WinXP, and Vista.

I have very few icons on my desktop so it doesn't really bother me.

Thanks man I will get that. Thats one of the biggest reasons I hate swapping new video drivers. :rolleyes:
