...but mainly doesn't. I am new to dual gpu and haven't had a ton of time to troubleshoot this yet but I thought I'd post what is wrong and my findings so far in case someone has insight.

Under XP 32 and 9.2 using RT 2.23 to monitor GPU load the other night I noticed the second card was flat-lined. Think I was playing FO3 and also tried Oblivion and Crysis-no go. A reboot didn't help, nor did testing forcing a profile with AgentGODs tool. So I downloaded 8.12 and Driver Cleaner'd them in, rebooted and lo and behold both GPUs worked again in Oblivion with near perfect sync. Tried FO3 again and nothing even after a reboot. And again Oblivion and Crysis wouldn't use second card either. Cold boot didn't help.

So went back to 9.2 last night even trying the 'install one card at a time' method. Worked fine right at first once again but then nothing after restarting the game and never got it going again after another hour of screwing around and trying everything I could think of including different bridge configs.

I have Vista 64 install I can try out which I will do though really just use it for a couple DX10 games.

Is your Catalyst AI on? If not then make sure it is.

If you got Vista 64 then install it, Crossfire scales better with Vista and have more optimizations for multi-GPU, It will definitely perform better than XP32 since you have crossfire and 4gb's of RAM.

Heh gg

Ofcourse Cat AI on, tried all ways. BTW 3D benches all work fine and consistent but still a no go on games. Known supported games like Oblivion. Knew dual GPU a general PITA but still. Looking to buy a kickass 4870 I think. Maybe get another later when cheap. Good thing this excellent x48 board only cost me $160.

Update: Yeah in quick testing it does seem to work more consistently in Vista. Tried TF2 three times in a row, then Oblivion and then TF2 again and 2nd card was being utilized each time. As for the comment that scaling works better in Vista I wish I could test that for myself with some benchies but my XP won't work!
