My guess at this stage is a 2gb and a 4gb card, I think they will save a higher clocked one to combat Fermi, that is if they can do it on the already massive card.

(max DX9 settings, but only 2xAA)
works well in CoH :D

Notes:

1. in CCC, shows as cat 9.10 - even after a manual driver update via device manager.

2. Somethings changed, as i no longer get crossfire flickering in CoH with Vsync off. I want to have sex with whoever fixed that, as its been driving me mad for a long long time!

2A. - in CoH i can even run DX10 again! no 30Hz interlaced, no 59hz, no Crossfire flickering... even if the drivers didnt change, they updated the CCC/catalyst AI a bunch :)

Settings

Result

3. about to test MW2 with Vsync off - i got the flickering in that game too.
edit: no flickering, no problems :D

Same, still shows at 9.10 for me, however does show build 8.663.1

Scores identical in Heaven so far, crysis seems about the same, too, waiting for shift to finish updating.

edit:

I WAS WRONG

catalyst AI was disabled, and thats why my flickering had gone away. once i turned it back on... flickering.

running a perftest in CoH now to see how much of a difference it really makes.

retest with catalyst AI enabled: (DX10 as above)

seems like i might as well run without one GPU ffs...

another edit:
crossfire disabled

well, fuck ATI.

i'm ditching crossfire as of right now, it can go die in a fire.

:( sad face for Mussels and his CF hardships, that really blows the big dick bro.

that min fps bites so hard its not even funny.

So I can confirm something is definitely different in them, NFS Shift, like the hardocp review, has picked up a good whack of performance, cruising around nordscliefe alone in cockpit cam of my Zonda always yeilded 95-102 fps pretty darn solid, not its more like 118-130 :)

just so that people are clear on what my posts are saying:

When you run crossfire (in windows 7?) with Vsync on, all is well. cept that many games dont like that. (MW2, resident evil 5, CoH)

When you run crossfire (again, in 7 only?) with Vsync off, you get a flikcering much like the Vsync tearing, only constant and worse. it seriously makes me ill to use it like that for more than 30 minutes at a time.

In order to FIX it, you have to disable catalyst AI... which makes my games run slower than a single GPU.

yeah. fun. and no its not these drivers - i've been fighting this issue since i first went crossfire

How many other people experience this? I'd imagine others are in the same boat or you might-have changed out cards by now?

How many other people experience this? I'd imagine others are in the same boat or you might-have changed out cards by now?

oh its all over the net if you google it.

seems to be related to 4850/4870 crossfire at the least, but its so annoying (most people run with Vsync on so they'd never notice)

Why do you think I like to complain about my experience with crossfire?

that truly made me sad to see all of those hits :( I don't remember it with my 512mb 4870's but I hated that experience for reasons I wont even get into now, I'm over it.

However you're making me think really hard about whether I do want that second 5870.... ora 59xx for trifire.

Do you have NFS Shift to try? I'd love to see if this driver improves 48xx's

sorry, not a racing sim fan.

mario kart is the only racing game i play.

i'm pretty sure this issue is locked specifically to 48x0 cards, but since you cant record a video of it or screencap it, its damned hard to report it to ATI

Isn't there a faster mirror for the Win 7 drivers?
