Seems like previous news about the a DirectX 9.0 L version being really a DirectX 10 variant for Windows XP have sprung up from pure hope for such support and no hard facts. In fact the L variant of DirectX 9.0 is the exact opposite. It will be a faster DirectX 9 version just for Vista. So not only will Windows XP users have no DirectX 10, but the "normal", slow DirectX 9.0 variant as well. One more reason to jump on the Vista bandwagon.
