why ?
today i decided to dismember my old video ,

why ?
well it's clock no longer updates because crafty mitsubishi only gave it a callender upto the end of 2009,
so it can't change the clock via the teletext system,
and i bought it in 1997 so it's getting old and decrepit and no longer works properly,
plus the fact i was given an akai video for free so i can't complain
here's my vain attempt at cooling

it was out of an old powersupply i dismembered ,
i had to put it in because the video used to get that hot it smelled really bad ,
infact during 1 session of watching titanic it got that hot it blew an 8 cm fan i had sucking hot air out

so bye bye old friend your chewing of precious tapes will never be forgotten

After a (relatively) long thought, I will only feel sad if my HDD die, all the data lost!

Other than that, I can get over it.

Im pretty sure that if EVERYTHING in your system died today, you would be far worse than sad More like

Depends what hardware, some things I don't care about.

If my P5Q3 died I'd be sad because I've got one with no bios issues and it overclocks like a pimp.



Was pretty angry/ upset when I broke the bloodrage I had aswell, that mistake cost me 300 pounds.

I call it names, names that are not allowed to be said here. Although been lucky as only things gone wrong on me are some Corsair Ram and some AxeRam which both have lifetime warranty's.

Have the feeling i'm going be pissed at Transcend though as they do not make the AxeRam any longer and they will offer some thing lame for exchange but will see..

I've been thinking about that. What if you would use them for like 10+ years, and they die on you? What would they do then?

lifetime means, until the part is "end of life", which means, it wont get produced anymore.

Not entirely, Windows versions go EOL status when the support ends, not when production stops.

Uh, yeah! Well, maybe I don't feel "sad" exactly, but it's never cool since it means I'm out either the cost of the part, or the cost of shipping the part to get it RMA'd plus having to wait for a replacement.

BTW, it reminds me of a story about an electronic shop in sweden in the late 80's. They said that if the customer who bought a new TV and saved the receipt would get a brand new TV in 10 years. Sales rocketed at first, but 10 years later people actually came back with the old, worn out tv's and the store went out of bussiness.

I always get sad when a piece of my hardware dies. However, I come out of my depression once I realize that I can buy a new one relatively cheaply and it outperforms my old-whatever-died.
