WRT54G to WRT54GL connection sharing possible ?.

Like to know if it's possible just to use one of them like if it was a booster without using the internet socket..

Well had a chat with Linksys and they said it's not possible unless you use a repeater like the WAP54G..

Was just a idea as i picked the other router up for $3 lol.

Maybe though a 3rd party firmware ?.

You can use 3rd party firmwares indeed. Have a look at this:

I know they exist

But will it allow me to do what i need other wise it's pointless and would void the warranty on one of them.

Are you wanting to connect one to the other wirelessly?

DD-WRT should allow that.

Yeah like Modem-wire to router- WRT54GL-wireless-WRT54G

You can do it they said but only if you use a repeater or hardwire the 1st router to the second router.

Not seeing on there forums that it's possible.

Yep i have ddwrt on a wrt54gs and you can definately do that. For me the connection wasnt perfect though, devices dropped IP that were on the wrt54gs. Anyway install dd wrt and set it up as a wireless client bridge (or something like that)

It's fairly big, but follow the instructions in part 1. Though it mentions below the steps to make sure you do give it a few minutes after flashing before hard resetting again. I noticed that after, but i was still fine.
