Hi guys!
I was wandering around the internet sites and found an amazing calculator... TI-84+
Yeah i know it is the calculator used to jail... (i dont want to write it, cuz maybe the moderators wont apprechiate it) :S
Anyway, I want to ask if someone out there has any of these pls reply to me, as i am interested in buying.
Also, what is the price of this calculator in US???
They don't sell them in my country
The purpose is not for that jail... but for some programming

New, around $100. Used... about $50 is a reasonable price. Lots of people want top dollar for thier stuff though.

Because it can do so many calculations and graphs and more.
Also, you can load games on it

Just get a TI-83+. I have 4 of them. Very cheap, about $40 on ebay, and they work great.

I have a TI-89 and they are expensive because they are handheld computers. They can do stuff that your typical Windows computer doesn't do so great (like fractions) and irrational numbers.

But some professors won't allow them on exams keep in mind. For a desktop calculator, they rock, but on tests, they are not allowed, at least where I come from.

Beautiful machines that go beyond the typical scope of the average college student. Good thing I need a calculator that converts real and imaginary numbers to phasor domain.

Also, I dont integrate on a calculator. It takes just as much time to type it in(correctly) as it does to simply go through the calculations.

The TI-89 is a splendid machine. Let me lay it out for you:

If you have infinite money, get a TI-89. If you are a poor college student get a TI-83+. If you think that faster processor speed matters for a calculator then get the TI-84. In my opinion, the extra cash is not worth it. Also, nobody will steal TI-83's, but TI-84's go missing fast cause they look so pretty. Take my advice and get a TI-83. PS, programming on a calculator is easy. I actually used to do assembly on the calculator. Not fun typing on the damn small keypad, but whatever. I did not have a link cable BTW.

So you had to use Alpha+key for every letter? Wouldn't that take an insane amount of time to write even a simple 50 line code?

Also the 89 has a clock, calender, and special computer cable(mini-USB).

2nd alpha key is like letter lock. So I can type out easily without doing that for every letter. Also, you can get a USB to TI-83 thing, but i am too poor, plus, I don't use programs, I use my calculators for actual calculus.

Yeah, TI-89 and up weren't allowed in ACT and SAT tests. They are awesome calculators though and mine has probably been running 7-8 years strong (I leave the batteries out now though becuase they like to explode for some reason).

I can't imagine paying more than $20 for a used one. There should be a surplus of these things. I mean thousands are stolen from schools each year and put online or sold to pawn shops.
