hey guys i am modding an older coolermaster case and one of the usb slots on the front IO is busted. i took it out and would like to replace this entire part. any ideas? here is a pic of it.

Can you jimmy/cut/pry out the broken USB port?

If so if you have one of these lying around you can cut it into shape then use epoxy to put it in place.

Nothing to it if you put your back into it.

Oh and BTW, Coolermaster tech support has been pretty good to me. If they're still selling that model of case I'd call them and, provided you're a halfway decent sweet talker, I bet they'll give you a new one free.

i do indeed have one of those. that would be easier than actually replacing the entire device since it is basically proprietary to the case itself. sort of a fail design but it is old and only cost 50 bucks years ago.

edit: actually that will not be easy at all. here is the back of the device.

Well my plan definitely isn't going to work, but I have a backup. Try calling Coolermaster and being extra sugar. They might be able to help you out (for free).

Woah, actually it's nice to see them carry such items.

I wish cooler master could come back with their Aluminum high-end chassis again... I still have two (one silver , one black) wavemaster from them. Full aluminum construction.
