Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a new very quiet PC case and am very interested by the design of the Fractal Design Define R3 USB3.0 (http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00119535.html).

At the moment I have a huge Cosmos 1000 from Cooler Master; the case is very nice and I love it, but I'm in the mood for a change and would like to have something a bit smaller.

The main criteria for me is the noise, I'm looking for an ultra quiet setup (I mean as quiet as possible considering I'm playing games).

With the same internal components, do you think there will be a sound difference between the Cosmos 1000 and the Fractal?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

You will not have major changes, will be a little quieter but perhaps the temperature will increase slightly...

IF you want my advice, i do not know what your budget, but the series Antec P 183 is very quiet and I heard it live is an aesthetically beautiful case. In some places has also already applied the acoustic foam

Your Cosmos 1000 has the flat side panels, right? No vents or fans on the side, right?
THEN i don't think you will gain any silence. The noises you have now must be from various fans inside.

My suggestion: Try to replace all the fans with silent ones.

Hi guys,

thansk for the replies.
In fact I'm not looking to have 'more silence', I'm pleased with my current setup' noise performances ;-)

I'm just in the mood for a new PC case and was wondering whether the Fractal would be less, equal or nosier than the Cosmos.

Cheers

In fact the P193 was already on my list (http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00110262.html). It's also supposed to be very quiet case....
