I had my pc hooked up to the router in the hall using a 5m Ethernet cable and it was the only device connected via Ethernet everything else was wireless. I've moved my pc across the room and the cable i use is long enough to reach where i moved my pc too, but no longer can i route it along the wall neatly. Anyway since i have to buy a new cable i'd like to have more hardware hooked up with Ethernet, but i don't know whether to...
1. Keep the router in the hall, get a longer Ethernet cable and run that to a hub in the other room.
2. Get a long telephone cable, run that to the room and use the router in the room.
There's 4 Ethernet ports on the router which would be enough for the devices i use.
