Based on the award-winning SteelPad S&S, SteelSeries has created a new mouse pad that comes with a completely new surface that is optimized to give the best compromise between low friction and best precision. We tested this $35 mousepad that comes with included Teflon and a carrying bag to see if it is really an improvement.

I am actually using the old s&s pad and I think it's a great pad. From the review it sounds as if they only fixed one of the two problems with the pad

Well DaMulta I don't smoke. But if it's only "cold" ashes you should be able to clean it off with some alcohol and maybe a damped piece of cloth!

Since it's made of plastic it can't cope with hot ashes or the drop of a cigarette, but so far only one pad can cope with this and that is the IceMat, which is extremely durable but performs poorly compared to most modern pads.
