PSU advice

Hi, I know this is a pretty vague question, but I currently have a 460W Akasa PSU. Would I be able to run a core2duo system off of this. I would be looking to upgrade it within 6 months but wondered if I could get by with this for the moment. Tahnks for any help

Get a quality PSU from OCZ, PC Power and Cooling, Corsair, FSP.
That PSU might blow your new comp up

Cant find many about what?
I dont understand what you are trying to say.
Also, it would help if you would post ur system specs.

Even in your 939 system, I would get a new PSU, bc the PSU u have now is CRAP :toast:

Post the full specs of the system. Also post how many Amps there are on the 12V rail.

You could power up a core 2 duo system easily if you dont have a really powerful graphics card.

ok guys sorry. I meant there are not many skt 939 boards about to purchase. I currently have an abit AV8 and it has no PCI-E slot or support for SATA II. I am torn between getting a new case, PSU, CPU, MBoard, RAM, GFX card (expensive) or maybe just get a new case, PSU skt 939 MBoard for now.

Your power supply is fine mate. Unless you're going to also upgrade your video card right now at the same time, it should suffice. Just be aware, your PSU hopefully is ATX 2.0 complient (24pin connector as opposed to the old 20pin ATX standard). Besides, the C2Duo is suppose to be energy efficient, more than your current Athlon64 3200.
