I plan on doing a completely new build some time after the new year, after CES, due to wanting to see what new tech will be coming next year, that we don't know about.
Current build:
Asus Crosshair Formula V
AMD FX-8350
Corsair Hyrdo H80i
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz CL 9
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W
2 x Asus GTX 660 DirectCUII OC (One is a Top Edition) in SLi
Corsair Force LS 120GB SSD
2 x WD Black 1TB HDD
Potential Build:

Now, the question:
Is it really worth going through a complete upgrade that will last me nearly a decade (shout out to 1136 users out there), or wait it out for AMD (I genuinely do love their price per performance) and just go for a GPU upgrade that will get bottle necked by not only my processor, but also by my aging PCIe 2.1 lanes?
DDR4 just hit the market, and AMD, at the earliest, won't have anything to support it until next fall, but most likely won't have a truly new FX chipset until 2016 (hence the waiting for CES). DDR4 will be around for quite some time, and PCIe 4.0 will get announced in depth, until some point in 2016 as well (based off of what I could gather from PCI-Sig/Wikipedia). By switching teams from Red to Blue, I know there are a plethora of perks, as well as some drawbacks (noticeably, the price).
Please provide only constructive comments and advice. While I'm a huge AMD fan, I also dislike knowing that even if I buy a great card, it could potential sealed away due to other hardware limitations. Case and point, my laptop is -almost- as fast as my desktop. Intel i5-4200M, 6GB DDR-1600MHz, 2 x GT 755 in SLi, 1TB (with 8GB ssd) hybrid drive, and it can almost play games as well, and in some cases better, than my desktop at home. ;;
