Check out the box of tricks that does the special effects. It's so primitive that there's no GUI, it just has preset buttons and knobs! It did those effects smoothly too, love it.

I used to watch Tomorrow's World and it would be great if the BBC brought it back.

It would be interesting to learn about the internal design of this thing, especially the graphics processor. I'll bet processing standard definition video rates back then required very fast chips for their day which were very expensive.

Also, I'm sure it was all programmed in machine code to squeeze every last ounce of performance from the hardware. Notice how smoothly it works, especially when switching modes?

I can remember watching late one night and the final thing you saw was the globe exploding....the next day they had a new design.
