need advice on motherboard

currently looking at building a custom (gaming) pc, picked all the rest of the parts....now i cant decide on what motherboard to use..

any advice would be great as i dont know much about them...what do you guys think are the best listed below ?

(motherboards im interested in)
-Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7
-Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK Black Edition
-ASUS Z97-PRO WiFi/AC
-ASUS Maximus VII Hero
-ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark2

at this present stage im swinging towards the Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 (is this an ok motherboard?)

im open to any suggestions

imo the gigabyte step up system puts them top of the tree atm.

check the news as they did a refresh on those mobo not so long back and make sure you get the new one

eh..SOC force..probably same price
or Maximus 7 Gene.
If you're just gaming..and OCing on air/water..Biostar Hi-Fi z97 we would do just fine.

what do you mean by step up system ?....refresh ? is that a software update ? or new board all together ?

i live in australia and the Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 and Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK Black Edition are the only gigabyte boards available around that price range at the moment

Yes but SOC Force and ud5-7 have higher-quality parts/better features/support.

Honestly don't like any of those GB boards. I would not buy the UD5/UD7 because it uses a pretty sketchy VRM, and although the SOC Force has a really good VRM they decide to go with a qualcomm ethernet chip. Another thing that really winds me up is the over-use of video connectors on the board... Who the hell buys a $300 overclocking board and uses an iGPU, yet alone an iGPU with 3 displays...

They could just have thrown on more USB ports, another ethernet port, or just not put anything to cut down on the cost.

TBH most of the motherboard manufacturers these days are rubbish at catering the boards for their target audiences.

agreed Oc'ing board shouln't have more than e VGA display ....
