because my original post was referring to newegg. and sorting from newegg when using advanced method, is a very good way to determine the best selling items out there.

No it isn't.

But even if it was, I never commented on what is being sold. What's being sold is NOT the same as what is being used. Many people are using monitors they bought years ago.

Most people do NOT buy from newegg. They buy from best buy, amazon, or walmart. You're conflating the average enthusiast with the average consumer.

Your previous post was a strawman argument and an ad-hominem attack. It literally had nothing to do with the contents of my post.

https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Electronics-Computer-Monitors/zgbs/electronics/1292115011

Superior list of best sellers than anything on newegg.

#1 75 hz
#2 60 hz
#3 60 hz
#4 75 hz
#5 60 hz
#6 75 hz
#7 60 hz
#8 144 hz
#9 75 hz
#10 144 hz

That's two 144 hz monitors in Amazon's top 10, 0 in its top 5.

Newegg doesn't do 5% of Amazon's sales.

The US isn't the world and Europeans don't buy at any shop mentioned in this thread...
Maybe some at Amazon but for the rest we buy at other shops from Europe.

Europeans absolutely buy from Walmart.

Walmart may not be everywhere in Europe, but they own ASDA which is in the UK at the very least.

Amazon is also hardly a US-only thing.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/
https://www.amazon.de/

etc.

Those are not just the US's largest retailers, they are the worlds largest retailers. Walmart is in both China and India as well.

Amazon isn't huge in the netherlands specifically, amazon.nl only sells books, but amazon.de has a dutch language implementation and ships to the netherlands.

I never once suggested 144 hz monitors weren't noticeably better, or that people shouldn't buy them. I only said most people don't use them, that steam charts are constantly being updated, and that if you want a list of best sellers Amazon is far more accurate than Newegg due to it being a vastly larger sample size and targeting average consumers as opposed to enthusiasts.

that makes sense. I think we had some confusion with our initial debate, I must have misunderstood you.

Asda is completely different to Walmart in the UK, Asda is mainly known for selling only consumer level products..by consumer I mean food, standard electronics if they have any and household essentials.

As for the Denuvo vs no Denuvo I get over 100fps maxed out so it doesn't really affect me at all, but I can see the benefits for lower-midrange systems though.

There's a decent variety of different kind of Asda stores. Supercentres very much so sell most of the same things a Walmart would sell in the US.

Food, electronics, household essentials is also a super generic description, that covers damn near everything.

There isn't even a trace of Walmart or anything you mention over here in NL. Even Amazon is very limited at best.

Also, the UK is officially not EU for much longer ;) Maybe. Probably...

I'd like to know where you got your info from to state is as an absolute fact.
From a place that tracks sales of stuff, your friends, aquaintances, yourself?
Also do you mean everything or just monitors?

That's a fairly big thing to say in the way you did.
I do know from my experience in what I buy and from others more buy from Newegg than what's made out to be with this.

While it is true Amazon, Best Buy and perhaps even Wal-Mart do sell alot of stuff Newegg has more than a tiny share of the market for such. Wal-Mart may well sell more monitors than the egg does but for other PC related items I don't think so, Wal-Mart's offerings that I've ever seen are lacking in comparison and that's being generous.
If they do I've never seen it (Yet).

Amazon on the other hand can be said to do at least as well or better than Newegg does with at least the same variety too, Best Buy is more like Wal-Mart but with higher end (No seconds like Wal-Mart) stuff and they do have more variety of things.
For Pre-built stuff (PC's and lappys) that's probrably where Wal-Mart does OK, for things like keyboards, mice, flashdrives and other stuff is where they do best.
And they do OK with monitors.

Newegg's commonly used by enthusiasts, but your average guy on the street has never heard of it, let alone used it. They only had $2.65 billion in revenue in 2016. That's absolutely nothing compared to the big sellers. Obviously Amazon sells things that aren't electronics, but to put it in perspective, Amazon had $233 billion USD in revenue last year. Amazon would sell as many electronics as Newegg even if only 1% of their total sales were electronics, and they're clearly not. Forbes lists Best Buy as the #1 seller of electronics in America, followed by Walmart, and then Amazon.

There's nothing wrong with Newegg, but they're more like Microcenter, in that while they might have good deals, they're just not the stores the typical person thinks to go to when buying something due to a lack of name recognition.

You'd be suprised at how many have heard of the egg.
It's fair to say they'd probrably go for something from Amazon or Microcenter, from places like Best Buy or even Wal-Mart that's not the case considering what product lines they carry.

For the basic periphials that's where the latter two would be doing fine because what they have is cheap and convenient because (Lets face it) many go there for other things and some do happen across these items while shopping there.
Instead of ordering it online they get it there because there is no wait involved and you can actually see and examine the product in person in most cases.

Newegg does have a market share that's more than just tiny which was my point BUT it's also true over the past few years since ownership changed hands to a Chinese company, it's just not the same as it was before and that does equal loss of market share.
If this trend continues, what was said about them having a tiny market share could well become reality soon enough.

On topic:
It's well understood Denuvo has caused issues with the extra load(s) it places on a system just to function, this is nothing more than proof of that being the truth.

Sounds to me you know more than I do even though you don't live in the UK?
If you go on Asda UK website you will not find a MSI monitor or Asus ROG monitor or even a gaming PC listed on their website and neither will you find it in any of the local supermarkets in the UK either.
That is what I meant by Asda in the UK is completely different to Walmart,if they was to sell any electronic goods it will be just TVs, Bluray/DVDs movies and Console games only.
Any "special" type of electronics all mainly sold in a niche sector and not in a major supermarkets over here.

Back on topic..
As mentioned in my previous post, i've not noticed it to be a problem in most cases, the game is pretty well optimised in general.

You do realize Walmart doesn't sell anything like that in their stores either, right?

Walmart doesn't sell any PC with a processor that isn't an all-in-one or a laptop using a ULV processor. They don't sell high-end gaming monitors of any variety in-store.

I'm not sure why you think being a Brit makes you more knowledgeable about the differences between UK stores and American stores than an American would be.

You have Asda there, I have Walmart here. The logical expectation would be we'd each know the variant local to us better than the other - but nothing logically suggests that one of us would know more about the differences between them. Even if you've been to America to shop at actual Walmarts, it's a pretty illogical stance to just assume I haven't also been to the UK to shop at an Asda.

Not having MSI or Asus monitors is completely to be expected - at any physical store. That's not what most people buy. Most people don't even know what MSI is, they want a monitor, they buy one from HP or Dell.

Sure they do under their own Overpowered brand. Gaming pre-built desktops and laptops, although the laptop had positive reviews unlike the desktops.
