NEWB ALERT!
I have a 650SLI-DS4 mobo and I am going to go SLI with it. The chipset is NVidia but I want to run 1950XTX's on it. Since the chipset is NVidia, will it make a difference running two NVidia GPU's as opposed to running two ATI GPU's?

single cards run the same on an Intel/Nvidia/ATi/AMD chipset.

BUT

Nvidia chipset
SLi you can run 2 Nividia cards, but not two ATi cards.
This is the same on AMD/ATi chipsets no SLi just crossfire.

If you already have the mobo and need to run CF on it ...some mobos have a mod to run CF on SLI MB.

Bah, that is what I was afraid of. I am kind of on a budget and I really wanted to run with 1950XTX. But I got a sweet deal on the mobo so now I need to find two good NVidia GPU's to run.
For NVidia I was looking at the 8600GTS in SLI mode ofc.
Any suggestions on better cards for less or a little more?

Other problems arise when you put an ATI GPU card on a nvidia chipset as well.

Yes...seeing as how you do NOT have the video cards yet then get the 8800 somethings.

I have never once heard of a nvidia chipset conflicting with a ati video card, if they did I would not be posting this right now.

If you don't have the cards yet get a 8800gtx or two 8800gts 640's if you have the money.

8600GTS SLI is fine, but I would buy an 8800GTS and SLI it later when you get more money.

Cool. Thanks for the advice everyone.
Sorry, took me a bit to reply because I was omw home from work. Most likely I will go with the 8600GTS SLI for now and then upgrade later on.
