Yeah it was a hard choice, but I went with it for the DLSS3. The power draw on the 7900xt is higher. Plus, If the 7900xt was 799 then I probably would have bought it. 799 was my high limit.. lol

I hear you, for me the benefits of the 4070ti are power draw, DLSS, generally better RT perfomance. The benefits of the 7900XT are extra vram, slightly better raster perfomance although that varies on the games you play.

It would be a hard one for me as well I think I would lean 7900XT but cards have to last me 4 years so that extra 8GB of vram likely would be the main factor.

4070ti 1440p perfomance is awesome though I'm sure you'll enjoy it for a long time DLSS being superior at 1440p is just the cherry on top.

DLSS3 is really neat I can't wait for more people to get hands on with it and while I don't think it should be a factor in a gpu buying decision I really like it.

Lol this dumpster fire plays most games at 144Fps 1440p. What's there to complain, i can live for a month or two on photosynthesis if this holds until 5070 sporting 8192 units and 256 bit GDDR7.
Yes. People should buy it en masse, and then wonder why the 5070 starts at $699 or likely $799.

"MSRP of US$599.99, but the remaining 10 cards are sold above the MSRP, by varying amounts. What seems odd is that some companies have both dual and triple fan cards retailing for the MSRP, but with some dual fan OC cards going for more than MSRP from the same company."

I think it was, MLID, recently heard the AIB makers essentially got TOLD that msrp, with just 15 minutes to go:)p), and some had not expected to have to hit that price, that oddity makes sense then.

Not good IMHO, Nvidia will be Apple in 5 years, a singular manufacturer, Setting the price, AIB's will get squeezed-out).

Can you even get it at 689E ? I think it may be more (something like 700E+) when you try to buy it , anyway i am not convinced that its even worth more that 600E and i wont pay more than 550E for it (500E was the sweet spot and fair in my opinion) :) for 800E (in store its 1000E+) i can get new in box sealed 4070 TI but without the bill (so can be a problem with warranty) from an auction site here in my country, a better value at only 100E more but with a bit of a risk (never had a problem before buying like this before but yeah)

I despise anyone buying it :)

No need to be harsh while the general consensus seems to be that this card is pretty underwhelming I'm not so sure someone with a 1070/2070 who wants a new gpu will think that.

Like with anything people have to look at what's available to them in their given price range and decide what's best.

I remember sitting there at the launch of the 2080ti and being disappointed with pricing but it was the only card that offered me a decent performance uplift coming from a Titan Xp. 4 years later it was finally replaced in my secondary pc and honestly even with how bad it was viewed at the time and still is really it bad a really good run and was still doing ok at 1440p

My only hope is for those that do purchase this card is they still feel good about it a couple years from now.

See post above yours.
Saw it but some sites are adding some tax after you add it in the basket or at buyout, anyway i am looking to upgrade my 2060 super (can sell it for 250E i think) for a max of 600E if 40 series or less for 30 series (3070/TI) but after seeing the vRAM war i was looking more at 4070 but i dont want to pay this much. (my card still does good work for my work stuff :) )
Edit: reason im looking more at nvidia is because im using some nvidia features for work and i like the dlss and the encoding but im more on AMD side in the rest , i like their panel and raw power more than nvidias.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
Unsurprising; It doesn't really offer much more performance/$ than older cards from the last 4 years.

Had it launched at $499+ inflation (so $529 or so) I'm sure there would be a rush on these. As it stands, this is mediocre value at best and brings little new to the market.

Just a really efficient 3080 with 20% more vram for a 100 usd less...... The only major difference and this is key I guess is people can actually buy it at msrp and don't have to wait nearly two years for it but even that's also kinda sad.

For all the people who skipped RDNA2/Ampere I wonder how they feel about it... I also wonder how we will look back at it in 2 years.... Everybody hated the 2070 at first but I see an awful lot of people with them.

True for all the GPUs that launched after the ETH merge that killed off mining. It's not a 4070-specific feature and the (new) street price of many older cards also slowly dropped as the demand did. That's a big part of the reason why the 6950XT is a price match for the 4070 in many regions.

I ordered ASUS Dual for a price that better 3070 used to cost few months ago so I'm happy with it. even if they drop the price by 1/6th in few months I won't regret it (hopefully). upgrading from 2060

eh Nvidia doesn't really do price cuts if anything they will phase it out or replace it with a better model at the same price. In 18-24 months sure or if AMD actually want's to compete maybe but otherwise I doubt it.

wrong. in germany it costs 553 euro. the rest is sales tax. nvidia is not charging you that sales tax, your government is.

i got news for you, we in the US don't pay $600 either. if i were to go and buy this trash GPU right now, i'd have to pay around $650. we get charged sales tax too. just nowhere near as much as you do.

the day europeans stop crying about the sales taxes that they themselves vote for is the day hell freezes over.

well yeah it was replaced as the flagship.

edit I meant to say or replace not and....

They technically did the same thing with the 680 but at least changing it's name to the 770.....

The pricing in Taiwan is nuts though, the cheapest cards listed online are the equivalent of US$689.
Considering Taiwan only has 5% VAT, that's a rip-off.
Plus 6800XT has a record low price and 16GB of VRAM. Very competitive with 4070.

I can pay the ~$600 but good God, some years ago I bought a GTX 1060 for something like ~$250 new. I mean,.....WTF!!!
This. If prices don’t become more sane within the next 2-3 years when I’ll likely be required to upgrade, I’ll likely spend potentially more money on a different medium of interest instead.
