.

I still playing Witcher 1 but the quest seems bugged and no pointers. Game is just weird as a whole but the story is quite interesting.

I started playing GTA San Andreas again, I try to finish it annually again. Listening to radio station is just so nostalgic, seems like it was yesterday it was released but this game is gonna be 19 years old this year.

Finished The Operative: No One Lives Forever. It's my GOTY 2024 lol. Seriously I should've play this game earlier when it comes out. Put it short, story is interesting, back story of Cate Archer is interesting, game play is fun, dialogue is funny, and there's a twist at the end that I did caught earlier as it was pretty obvious but it could caught me by surprise back then.

I'm glad I build retro gaming PC for it, play it on almost period correct hardware with native 1024x768 display is a treat! Onwards to NOLF2!

I love that game! 2 is pretty good too but I kind of missed the long and dragged out conversations (they were kind of funny in themselves,) as well as the diverse locations from the original.

-----

I've been playing Fate/Samurai Remnant. Its pretty good... well for the kind of people who like jrpgs anyway.

I beat CoD4RM, and picked up so many games from the Steam winter sale...this is my worst one in years lol.

What I picked up and will denote which I'm playing:

  • Resident Evil HD Remake (just got started, realized mouse+kb is a BAD idea, so gonna get my controller setup and come back)
  • Resident Evil 2 Remake
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake + DLC
  • Door Kickers 2 (Playing now, and OMG, this is amazingly fun!!! How did I miss this one?! I love the idea and premise of it, I'm having entirely too much fun getting my ass handed to me as I learn how to get good at this...next thing I know its 2hrs later lol)
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition
  • Executive Assault 2
  • Total Conflict: Resistance (Playing, and this one is quite fun! Plenty of bugs, but surprisingly engaging...I keep coming back for more).
  • NFS Most Wanted 2012 + DLC (Playing, was a fan of the OG 05 version, never tried this one...was cheap, and I LOVED the Burnout Series... this is definitely Need For Burnout Paradise is Wanted lol...but I like it for what it is.)
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (I had to, had it on PS2, loved it...playing it now, and getting into it, not bad for its age, playing this is nostalgic and really takes me back to some good old days of gaming).
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Picked up Ghost Recon Breakpoint on sale just before winter sale, luckily same price. Whew.

About to pick up Armored Core VI, its not on sale...and I've really tried resisting...but its AC. I loved AC back in the day . Never played V. Sooooo tempted. Just...want...to...get...it....noooooow....

I will say though Door Kickers 2 and TC:R are keeping me very well entertained in the modern combat area, Chaos Theory is surprisingly better than I expected for its age. The thoughts, planning, tactics that DK2 inspire is just so damn engaging and rewarding (and punishing). I like how each play through the enemies may do something different or even spawn in slightly different areas.

TC:R is something I've watched for some time, and while I was hesitant to pick it up, glad I did. Still needs some work, but dev is active and what is there is quite fun to play. It's like modern warfare mount & blade. Which I played the hell out of Void Destroyer 2, which was kinda like M&B in space, I still do load that up and play it. But this taking a more modern warfare approach is more appealing to me atm, and the battles are crazy sometimes. Upgrading matters, logistics and supplies matter, so very cool and I've only just begun. If you are curious about either of these two, I'd say take a serious look, I'm very glad I did.

And NFSMW, man, even though its old...it is actually pretty damn fun and silly. In only a way a NFS/Burnout styled game could ever be. I am a huge fan of Burnout Paradise and previous Burnouts...and this NFSMW is old enough I don't have the "it's not the OG one, it must not be played" mindset about it, but rather...its cheap, let's get it and have some fun! So far, mission very much accomplished. Something a little more lighthearted and entertaining. It's not 2005 MW, but I was fine going in with that mindset.

And now I have even more games in my growing backlog to play. I really can't complain, but I really bought more than I should've LOL.

A true gaming classic that has stood the test of time, in spite of the graphics which really pale into insignificance against the gameplay and storyline, which is thoroughly original.
It's one of those games that you can jump into and still get a kick out of, as I have done since it was first released. The dialogue alone is worth the price of admission, as it were.
One scene in particular, when Cate is listening to a couple of thugs chatting about the effects of beer, in a German accent no less, and it's influence on criminals and the lower classes etc etc.
Not to mention the interactions between her and Smithy with her famous put-downs :peace:

Another reason why GOG Galaxy is the worst of the stores/launchers: I play Stardew Valley almost exclusively on my laptop while on vacation, but sometimes I play it on the desktop. Not often though, but cloud saves is a thing, right, so no worries, right? Except now GOG Galaxy took the old save from the desktop (not touched in months) and replaced the NEW save on the laptop with it (last played yesterday). I noticed when I started the game and realized the house looked completely different. If the game hadn't implemented a save.old function I would have lost something like 20 game hours.

That's it? THAT'S your reasoning for your claim that Galaxy is "the worst"?

"Another reason", meaning I have more (buggy installations, more commonly straight up not running). But I would say "erasing 20 hours game time from a game dependant on long term progress" is a pretty big deal. It overwrote files with newer dates with files with older dates without my input. That's a pretty big deal if you ask me.

GOG games are DRM-free. I can put up with a few bugs here and there for that.

Bugs like "replacing new files with old files", sure. Small stuff. No biggie.

Over the holidays a resurgence in The Eliminator on FH4 and FH5 took place. Lobbies with +30 and +50 people respectively around the clock.

If the visual depiction fails to produce the intended meaning. This should be interpreted as +90% openly engaging in what at this point is nothing less than blatant officially recognized forms of deterring use of games having exacted a peak of fiscal intake. Full on hypercar being destroyed by vehicles with fractions of a decimal point lower capability.

But you yourself said you didn't lose any progress, bc game already had save.old lol. So you're just venting at this point.

Obviously, but I really think "replacing new files with old files without prompting" warrants it.

Buggy installation my hairy bum. I've never seen such a thing once. You're complaining about something few people care about. "Cloud saves" are not that useful to most players anywhere, and GOG players? Forget about it.

Bugs like "replacing new files with old files", sure. Small stuff. No biggie.
You can be a smart-alec all you want, doesn't change the fact that your problem is with ONE feature of ONE game.

Obviously, but I really think "replacing new files with old files without prompting" warrants it.
Can't disagree with that, but you need to be sure the problem is not with your system/configuration before blaming an entire platform. I've got StarDew Valley on GOG. I'm going to give this a try and see what happens..

I should've added the reason for this post.

A fair number devoted to winning by skill and chance, myself included, began to take increasing amounts of pleasure in joining the next lobby undeterred by the previous failure. In the aftermath large numbers of already consistently clean racers are driving much much better.

When you can come back and win a race after being launched backwards .2 mile by consecutive trucks that appear and then disappear out of nowhere doing 200 mph. Chances are you don't suck
