Is 6000MHz C36 DDR5 memory too much for 12600KF with XMP?

I am getting a new system and will get the 12600KF (as it was very cheap compared to 13600KF) and was wondering whether having DDR5 6000MHz C36 is too much for the processor even with XMP allowed.
I'm not looking to do manual overclocking myself.
I got a MSI Tomahawk Z690 DDR5 motherboard already (and 750W RMe Corsair PSU)
This is my RAM: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BZHTVHN5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(NOTE: I posted this also in the Cooling & Overclocking since I wasn't sure which would be the best forum)

What do you mean "too much".

I'm running a i7 12700K , Z690 with 32GB DDR 5 6000 C36.

It will be a good combo.

Oh by too much I meant whether it would be unstable (I saw in multiple places mentions that if you have too much RAM for your CPU to handle it will slow your system down)

Thanks for the feedback!

You'll be fine for single-rank stuff for sure.
Thanks for the response, I looked up what single/dual rank meant but I'm not sure I fully grasped it. With the two RAM sticks I sent put on the recommended motherboard slots, it would be single-rank?

2x 16, 2x 24 are single-rank
2x 32, 2x 48 are dual-rank.

Assuming it's 32GB of DDR5-6000, you will be okay. Plug n play. Since it's Z690 Motherboard and 12th gen, you'll probably max out at 6400 for that setup.

I would update the Motherboard BIOS as well. Small performance improvements and memory compatibility.

Not a thing. It will either not boot and or be unstable. Example is filling all 4 slots or in your setup using high freq dual-rank memory.

Unless by slowing down actually means running slower memory so it doesn't crash the computer. Than yes, kinda. Slower memory can impact game performance.

Or just check the motherboard memory QVL and buy a memory kit that has been tested to run at their XMP speeds on your board.

Thought these issues were more with AMD...

Perhaps you heard 4x dual-rank running slower due to IMC limitations?

I know it's an old post, but i got a i7-12700K and i'm thinking of upgrading memory from 2x8 16GB DDR5 4800MHz to 2x16 32GB DDR5 8000Mhz. Is that fine? Would the XMP 3.0 work properly on this rig?

You'd get better performance with 13th or 14th Gen, then get 32gb 2x16gb 8000mhz kit.

100% will not work at 8000 MT/s with 12th gen. You're highest bet is probably in the 6800 range without tinkering.

Your motherboard also plays a roll in this too. Assuming it's also not a 2-slot Z790 MB, you will want to stick to around 6000 for that 12th gen.

Are the Raptor Lakes not having any issues with overheating or wrapping? Isn't that why Intel made up some bullshit about the bios settings?

Can i just run the memory at 6800Mhz even though the XMP is set for 8000Mhz and just don't set the XMP until i get the 15th Generation Intel when they come out?

Sure can, just run the memory at a lower speed. Easiest way would to enable XMP, and before rebooting manually change the frequency to your desired amount. IE 6000~

@P4-630 pointed out already that 15gh gen (aka Ultra 200 series) is a new socket. You will need a new motherboard. By that point in 6 months you are overpaying for memory since 8800 MT/s is just around the corner making what is currently "ultra fast" cheaper as the next halo product takes its place.

No more than the 12th gen before it :)

Overheating and warping-

No, can't say that would be an issue when it's like 20% better than 12th gen with the same memory you're using now.

Bios settings depends on the tier of the motherboard. You're not exactly running an Apex or even Hero from Asus. Just their Asus performance enhancement alone makes the cpu a frying pan.

And it's at least slap in performance gains on your part. You may not need the memory unless you need more capacity. Gains will be CPU IPC increase from 12th to 13/14th gen.

Yes, it's a LGA 1851 socket. Probably will wait since another user pointed out that the DDR5 8800Mhz will be out by then.
