Quick question about changing my CPU. I intend to go from my dual core e6600 to a quad (Yorkfield) in a couple of months. I know this would require Windows reactivation, but will I have to completely reinstall, or will it be fine just booting up with the quad, and windows takes care of the rest? Is it generally advisable to reinstall with a processor change (ie-what do some of you do?) BTW, I have both XP and VISTA dual booting. Thanks.

Software Windows XP pro SP2 -- vista is still crap
make sure your bios is the latest. clear it, and pop in the quad, you should have no problem getting into vista. in the case that it only detects 2 cores, you need to go to msconfig and go to boot tab and hit detect HAL..
