which laptop to choose ??

i just want to ask you guys if this laptop is good enough for a little gaming

its the compaq presario v6508AU. it has

AMD turion x2 1.8ghz
1gb of ram ddr2
120 gb sata hdd
DVD burner
Windows vista home premium
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7150 GRAPHICS (i dont know how much mb of space it has)

if there is anyone living in australia, i got this laptop from the Harvery Norman Catalouge.

and is the graphics good enough for gaming..... im a Doom3 fan so i want to know if it will be able to play doom 3 at a good rate without stopping !!

and if you know anyone who has bought this or has this laptop can you please tell me that how much mb of graphics space it has

7150 shares memory with the motherboard and will game as long as its on pogo.com and mine sweeper

I have an intel gma 3100 so same boat but I think they both will run the orange Box ill let you know this weekend,if mine will yours certainly will. Good news is battery life is longer with low level cards like these.

well so the laptop is pretty good by the sounds..... if it is good for playing Doom3 then well i will have no problem !

i have one more question to ask

i just want to know if i have a graphics card that totals up to 1gb of dedicated and shared memory.... how much space would i have for dedicated and how much for shared.. ??

well im just guessing but i think it is 512 dedicated and 512 shared ?? dunno ?? lol

It will play doom 3 no probs with recent games youd haved to run at low res and detail. And Harvey Normans good for me my sisters bf is normally able to get me good deals.

but i found this hp pavilion dv9000 serise

its got everything like 4gb, 1gb of shared and dedicated graphics mem, 200 or 400 gb hdd (forgot) and core 2 duo 2.2ghz

Yes it's not as fast as a 8600GT or 8800GT or bla bla bla!
But You can play games on it for sure!

My Girlfriend has a laptop with X1100 and I can Play on it X-men Legends2 or Marvel Ultimate Alliance! So I think on a 71xx you can play some games to!

thnx but im asking about the the space of dedicated space i would have if i had 1gb of graphics memory which is dedicated + shared and equals up to 1gb of total space.

how much exactly, would i have for dedicated .. i think triprift mite be correct but i just want to be 100 % sure ...
