Yeah, I also read last night that the Q9450 has a FSB wall at 478mhz :cry:

but that was an engineering sample, well I say that, 4 of them from different batches, all maxed at 478mhz, I just hope thats not the case with the retail product cause by my math thats just over 3.8gig, many Q6600 will do that.

Not quite that, they were guessing that it would be about 100mhz difference for equivilent performance if you get my meaning, so the Q6600 would need to be around 100mhz faster to match it.

i read a couple last night....only because there was an ES sample 9450 on UK Fleabay for sale so i was trying to get a quick "heads up".....here is one of the forums meantioning the wall in post one, if you have not read this thread in XS it's quite a good read:

some Q6600 vs. all Q9450 - 94 will have faster perf due to more cache, as well as need less volts/run colder while doing it.

just as an update on the raptor: cloning tools are USELESS. only acronis works in vista, and it refused to copy just one partition - had to be both. Of course, the raptor is 150GB and the original is 160, so that kinda didnt work (lost half the windows install.

One plus tho, is that its only taken an hour of screwing around
