Something i dont understand.

see these 2 motherboards ( same mobos but 2 revisions) ,
revision 1.0 http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=775Twins-HDTV&s=
revision 2.0 .http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=775Twins-HDTV R2.0&s=

According to them, the revision 2 (R2.0) supports core 2 duo CPUs but the revision 1 does not :confused:

, looking at the specs i cant see any differences (same chipsets and stuff ) . What makes one support it and the other not to?

anyone see any differences?

The only thing i can tell by the specs, is that the R2.0 has Hardware Monitor listed at the very bottom, which the first one does not...but other than that, they are the same...and that the R2.0 supports vista

yeah, that shouldnt make the difference bwtween core2duo support or not . Or is there something i dont know? :confused:

I honestly dont find anything wrong with it, just make sure the fsb is 1066 or below for the cpu

I guess that the new revision just has a newer BIOS which supports the conroes, and the revision 1's BIOS can just ne updated to support them too.

just upgraded the bios on my revision 1 to the latest relese (Bios 2.1 ) , put in a core 2 duo cpu but it refused to boot. Strange since the revision 2 which supports Core2duo has exactly the same hardware .
