Yep you got it, DVI provides better color and response times. Better color and response basically because analog cables, conver the signal from digital(your pc) to analog(the cable) then back to digital(the monitor). But their are other more complicated reasons as well.

Also if anyone was wondering the difference between single and dual link. Single link DVI is able to transfer 1920 x 1080 resolution vs dual link 2048 x 1536.

DVI does look better than VGA, and offers a few extra features (HDMI adpators to connect to TV, 1:1 pixel mapping, scaling control, and others)

DVI is DVI, quality differences dont really happen.

Yeah all DVI cables are about the same other than dual/single channel which for most people (myself included is not a factor). Whenever I go over 1080 I use HDMI anyway(my LCD's don't have DVI).
