My temps go up to 80C on stock clocks with MSI Kombustor. My temps Go up to 90C at the current 950/1300/1.2v.
The 5870 fan automatically increases to keep the temp stable at 85-90C depending on which Kombustor test I am using.
Also. I find that if I crank voltage too high, it's unstable...
I am now MSI Kombuster Stable at Core: 950, Mem: 1300, Core Voltage: 1.2v
But I want to bump my core up to 1000. How do I do that? Do I need to increase voltage, or decrease it?
Yesterday, I had my 5870 at 1000 core and 1300 mem and 1.225v core voltage.
I could run any of the 3D tests for as long as I wanted. Today, it seems more unstable, those same tests crash, and sometimes they work.
GPU Burn-in crashes on all of the Open GLs, and Direct Xs.
How do I...
Thanks to both of you!
I've looked into it a bit more myself and I found that grounding it to the case is a bad idea.
I snipped the wires so there is minimal exposed wire. And I covered them with electrical tape.
So about 2 years ago, I ripped the front bay out of the case, and with that the controller ripped off one of the bottom fans. So the fan is working, but it needs that switch. So there wer three wires. Connecting wire 1 + wire 2 would get me low speed, wire 2+3 = med speed, and 1+3 = high speed...
Based on the 400, 500, and 600 series historical release dates seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units
I'm willing to bet that new Nvidia cards will come out in March, and a leak will surface in February.
For ATI, based on their past release...
I remember back in the day when that Antec 900 was the best case for air cooling. Now I'm just getting back into the loop.
What are the best current cases, and why are they the best?
I've been reading up on the Samsung 840 250gb and the Samsung 840 Pro 512gb.

At newegg.ca the Samsung 840 512gb is $600, but lets say that you can find it on sale for $550
And the Samsung 840 250gb is $150 on sale right now at one of my local computer stores.
As you can...
