From the OP:
or are you referring to the rad? it does bring up an interesting question if they've used aluminum tubes in the rad, but if they did what a lot of radiator vendors do, they've probably used copper tubing with aluminum fins so it wouldn't have galvanic corrosion.
I have the Dark Base Pro 900 (version 1), and it's still a nice looking case. They fixed all the things I had complaints about in the version 2, and then the 901 is even better still. It's not as flashy as several others out there, but I kind of like that.
I have a Straight Power 12 1200W and I...
I didn't notice initially, but why have you used a 14900k on an EVGA motherboard that doesn't officially support 14th gen? It doesn't have the correct microcode or V/F points for the 14900k and without some manual tuning will be operating at completely the wrong clocks and voltages. This would...
Worst I've ever tested is Corsair XTM50. I bought it at a local Best Buy and I'm guessing it must have been sitting on the shelf for years if it performed that poorly. I don't know how anybody could buy that and consider it usable. I'd honestly rather use Arctic Silver 5 or whatever cheap stuff...
I'm not good at catching these kinds of posts. Just saw your convo with rblaes over on the other forums and figured I'd try to find you both and say hi lol.
I'm going to try and save a build-log I did on the EVGA forums (I hope this is allowed). With everything they have going on (or lack thereof) I didn't want this to be lost forever. This is the system listed in my System Specs.
LOTS OF PICTURES!!!
TPU Gallery Link for this system.

Bill, respectfully, I think you might be misreading the room here.
most of this thread has been a back and forth between people who didn't read the article stating what is commonly known as "don't mix cables from different supplies" until they realize that EVGA created this situation. EVGA...
It's actually kind of funny because EVGA's G6/P6 are made by Seasonic as the OEM.
EVGA actually has a site where they listed all the cables that were compatible between different supplies. It's currently out of date and I don't see anything about the pinout change within the same part number...
Probably. It seems the cpus that have the same configuration as 13th Gen parts boot, but they still don't run correctly. I don't think a lot of people have done thorough testing on it though as an unsupported platform.
The z790 Dark boards are pretty sweet, but don't try to daily-run a 14th gen on one. They haven't offered any BIOS updates in the last year, so they never got official 14th gen support. They can boot a 14900k, but not a 14700k, and they don't have the correct microcode or V/F points for 14900k...
The first computer I completely built myself had an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 in it. I then had friends with Q6600's that could OC just about as good. ~$750 price difference between the two if I remember correctly. That was the last special edition Intel chip I bought lol. You live and you...
