Can a 290 be flashed with a 290X bios to unlock the card? I did this a few years ago with a set of 6950s and they are still working awesome till this day. I just ordered a Sapphire R9 290 and was hoping it is flashable to 290X bios.
Thanks,

I have Afterburner 2.1 beta 4. After turning off ULPS it works perfect. I have had crossfire since the second week the HD 6870s were out. I only blue screen at 5.2GHz+ on my cpu
It worked fine when I used it. I know I had some issues with the sync check box (don't uncheck it or else). I ended up switching to AB. Sorry i wasn't much help.
Nice clocks!!! :rockout:
I am going to play with Afterburner 2.1 Beta 4 tonight for some benchmarks. I had no serious issues after changing EnableUPLS to 0. I had to change it in a bunch of folders. The key is rebooting after making changes.
Dude I have overclocked the living piss out of some many cards and never had that issue. The TriXX doesn't have enough voltage to fry them out. 1.30 is not much for these cards. They can go pretty safely to 1.40 with right temps. I had a set of 5770s that lived at 1.35 overclocked and benching...

If it is active, you need to disable it in the registry:
1. open start/orb menu and enter "regedit" in the search box and press enter
2. if prompted, click...
