Tested with HD Tune (full error check) and Samsung's ESTool (full check 3 times) - no errors found. SMART also shows that HDD is in a perfect state. As it turns out it can be a RAM fault after all.

Which HDD utility would you recommend? I've checked Samsung's web-site but it looks like they have utils only for old drives. Ran Window's Checkdisk on a new drive a few times (without 'scan for a bad sectors' option though) but it reports no problems. The disk is also almost empty so far...
