Thunderbolt Technology: The Fastest Data Connection to Your PC Just Arrived

This is mostly for people who want the extra bandwidth. The maximum you'd get with wireless is 300-500Mbps. That's slower than USB 2.0.

Thunderbolt Technology: The Fastest Data Connection to Your PC Just Arrived

I couldn't agree more. We're going from USB to.. Thunderbolt. Unbelievable.

Thunderbolt Technology: The Fastest Data Connection to Your PC Just Arrived

I think we already have a connector for that.

Thunderbolt Technology: The Fastest Data Connection to Your PC Just Arrived

I wholeheartedly agree with that message. There should only be ONE port for external devices. We need to have one connector that has latency of SATA, the bandwidth of Thunderbolt, and the longevity of the horrendous serial port. Instead of creating Thunderbolt, Intel should have just...

Thunderbolt Technology: The Fastest Data Connection to Your PC Just Arrived

You can't compare that. IDE was going nowhere in terms of bandwidth. It had a large, outdated, annoying data connector and required an entire 4-pin molex for half an amp of power. This isn't IDE to SATA. This is SATA 1.5Gbps vs SATA 3.0Gbps. And I specifically don't compare between...

Thunderbolt Technology: The Fastest Data Connection to Your PC Just Arrived

Actually, that's 1,250MB/s vs 600MB/s (10,000Mbps vs 4,800Mbps) I don't see the problem in an external peripheral connector bottlenecking an 8-HDD RAID-0 array or a top-end SSD. If you have 1,000$ to spend on storage, you're not going to use USB. OT: I don't know what to think of this in...

Can't turn vSync off on GTX 460

Actually, it's a GTX 460 with GTX 460 SE BIOS (RMA Process to come). So I guess I'm stuck with 266 like the 500-series. I've already done a clean install. Anything else I could try? I seem to be the most unlucky with nVidia drivers.

Can't turn vSync off on GTX 460

Yes, sure. I'm using Afterburner, made sure it was reset. I'm using nVidia Inspector, also reset with no overclocking. The thing is, I remember having this issue on my 8800 GTS 512s. You know, where you get 63FPS capped and lots of tearing instead of 60FPS. It's like when the game tries to...

Can't turn vSync off on GTX 460

I did that. Now when I force it off, the menus and loading pages are forced off (FPS in the thousands) but when the game/benchmark actually loads.. it's capped to 60. Odd stuff.

Can't turn vSync off on GTX 460

I don't know if any of you have had this issue, but I'm getting a 3DMark06 score of 10,000 because my frames are capped to 60. This happens in Crysis too. I used to get 48 AVG, now 38 because of vSync. I've forced it off, re-installed the drivers.. nothing. Is there any way to fix this?

    GPU-Z Showing a GTX 460 SE w/768MB

Thanks a lot, man. You've been a great help. Btw, this card uses 2x 6-pin and overclocks like crazy:

    GPU-Z Showing a GTX 460 SE w/768MB

But it's not an SE card. If it was it wouldn't have 768MB of RAM. How hard is it to flash it, btw? I think it might be easier than returning it.

    GPU-Z Showing a GTX 460 SE w/768MB

No sir. The box, its labels, the card, everything.. says GTX 460 768MB, which is what I ordered. But somehow.. it has a GTX 460 SE BIOS. I used Afterburner.. it says the same thing - GTX 460 SE.

    GPU-Z Showing a GTX 460 SE w/768MB

I just opened a brand new Gainward GTX 460 only to find that it has a GTX 460 SE BIOS! All I know so far is that with a Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz, it gets 58FPS in the Resident Evil 5 benchmark, where as a regular GTX 460 with an i7-920 gets 78FPS. So, does the BIOS really limit it to 288 SPs and...
