I have 3 instances of .Net installed according to add/remove: .Net Compact Framework 1.0 SP3 Developer .Net Compact Framework 2.0 .Net Framework 2.0 Should I remove all of these and then reinstall .Net ?

No. It was right after log on while the desktop and such was loading.

Thanks for reminding me there Steevo, I am using DVI as well on both ends no VGA D-SUB. On a similar note the new Ati drivers just released today 7.12. When downloaded from ATI/AMD site its labeled as 7-11 (!) I guess its worth a whirl so I might as well.
