AIO Water Cooler vs Tower Air Cooler

Not sure what's the question here. It's a new version of NH-D15, so, 2 big fat towers with 2x 140mm fans. If you are dead set on wanting the best from Noctua, IMO you should wait for the new NH-D15. Below is a news article about it, back when Noctua showed a prototype of new NH-D15 in Computex...

AIO Water Cooler vs Tower Air Cooler

The old NH-D15 is quite outdated, and the new and improved version of NH-D15 is around the corner unless it gets delayed again, but sources below don't think it will delay. If you want black, and everything goes right ...which seldom happens in Noctua, a black variant should be available half...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

A Phanteks F200SP, a Silent Wing 4 Pro 140mm , and a USB to 4pin thingy, this time with PD support. I just can’t stop collecting high-end case fans from Noctua and be quiet and use them as a general purpose fan out of a PC case. Well, because IMO they are most of the time more noise-optimized...

POLL: Can you see the difference past 60fps (gaming/other)

Please define "clear as night and day". I guess that is the option I will vote, but because I'm not native English speaker, just in case. Even though I have effectively done a lot of AB test (at home, the two similar sized 1080p of 60Hz and 144Hz literally side-by-side, and at a game center...

Only some humans can see refresh rates faster than others, I am one of those humans.

I think noticing flicker and noticing the smoothness of higher refresh rate is a different thing. I don't think I can spot the 60Hz flicker like in the studies, nor can I spot VRR flickers on early VRR days or recent OLED stuffs, but I'm damn sure I can notice the difference between 60Hz, 100Hz...

My computer setup - Request for opinions

My two cents here: WiFi 7 : if you don’t know what device you will need Wifi7, you probably don’t need it. By the time you really need it, it’s not an expensive fix (stick a Intel BE2xx on your board and call it a day) So, only use it as a deciding factor if you can’t decide on other features...

    What are you playing?

There's some talk on arcade racers here, so I gotta throw the actual amount of games I do weekly here. The awaited discount on Horizon Chase Turbo didn't happen, so I have to go a little bit deep with my old game catalog... Along with dealing with weekly contents on Forza Horizon 5, Forza...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

Actually, both things are for my brother, so ... no, I guess? But it is a really really awesome monitor as long as the scene doesn't cause a drop the brightness / saturation. And nowadays budget 24" 1080p IPS are great bang for the buck. Probably the first time I heard about such products...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

This one is not for mine, but my brother… a TUF 4070TiSuperSuperTi non-OC to upgrade from a 3070Ti which was unwittingly VRAM limited (on R6S + Bluestack, Bluestack will crash out very frequently on 3070Ti. Not on 4070TiSuper) The TUF model here is priced surprisingly competitively (~USD$900...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

A tech tip man once posted…well that meme is already in this thread. Anyway… 2 hubs for a more convenient place to access the USB ports, one with a 60W PD port, which ended up a almost completely waste of money. I wanted a port that can do high power PD and connect to my PC at the same...

Is It The 1080 TI The Best GPU Ever?

I was completely out of the market during that time period, but after 20X0 / 30X0 I have heard a lot of nerdy friends saying "the good ol' days of 1080". If only the pricing of 3080 was vaguely near its MSRP for its lifetime it would have been the GOAT... And, forgive this car analogy from a...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

The Katana V2X (and V2) do have Bluetooth 5.0. To my knowledge, the Katana V2X and Stage V2 use what looks like the same subwoofer unit (same dimensions, rated 40W). The Katana V2X uses a smaller, more powerful main unit with a few more features and some subtle RGB. (600mm vs 680mm but with...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

I looked at the Creative Pebbles X Plus review, think of myself “huh, that thing looks pretty okay for the review and I wanted to replace my speakers for a long time…” but then there is no way to grab one right now nearby. I looked a bit further, and I suddenly remembered I wanted a soundbar...

Should I buy now new 1200w PSU for future GPU upgrade ?

If the price is close enough then sure, why not, but 1200W is certainly a overkill. Assuming 5090 /5080 isn't going ham on power usage. If you have built your PC by yourself you should have a rough idea of how much space on the PSU bay do you have. Spec sheets and a simple ruler are your...

Hypothetical questions involving AMD Rumors and Nvidia's featureset

I utterly don't care about any NVIDIA features, so I voted 5%. My brother has more preference to high FPS, is more into ray tracing and is completely fine with DLSS, so he would be fine with 20~25%. A bit extreme difference, I know.
