urrm because games really demonstrate a CPUS raw performance huh

Bullshit. According to Techspot the AMD Bulldozer beats out the Phenom II X6 in EVERY synthetic benchmark (except x264 HD).

http://www.techspot.com/review/452-amd-bulldozer-fx-cpus/page7.html

This is where you say "Techspot cant be trusted. That is just 1 website".

this is where I say check and mate, you lose, don't collect $200, enjoy your noobness, keep trying to pass your lemon off as fruit, you just got pwned etc., etc., etc., you suck ;)

Every review going gave it a thumbs down and the forum threads around the internet discussing this lemon are legion. In particular, it's worth quoting the very last sentence from the review by bit-tech: "Turns out we were right: the FX-8150 is a stinker." Ouch. The best thing going for this processor is its unlocked multiplier and excellent overclockability – records have been set due to this and is a fair win for the product, if niche in scope. 6 core and 4 core variants are also on sale.

It turns out that the only one who may benefit from the upcoming migration from Phenom II to the new FX family is AMD. Bulldozer microarchitecture allows the company to stop using old manufacturing process for their semiconductor dies and move on to the new cores with lower production cost. However, the end users won’t win in this situation. FX CPUs that are coming to replace the good old Phenom II processors are not faster or cheaper than their predecessors. Therefore, until processors on new Piledriver microarchitecture come out, the new FX are of no real interest to AMD fans and Phenom II owners. FX CPUs are also hardly appealing for the new systems: Intel’s Core i5 and Core i3 processors can offer better combination of price and performance in a wide range of tasks with only a few exceptions such as video transcoding in x264 codec and selected 3D rendering applications.

So, we can’t recommend getting involved with the new FX CPUs from AMD at least until they revise their pricing. And even though there are claims that desktop Bulldozer processors are selling pretty well, we can’t imagine who could really be investing their hard-earned cash into these products.

Yes. But what has that got to do with your wild and outrageously WRONG claim that the Phenom II X6 beats out the Bulldozer FX-8150 in majority synthetic tests.

I'm guessing you are either 1. joking, 2. on drugs, or 3. very stupid. Let's hope it's the former rather then the latter as the phenom II x4 outperforms the FX-8 in most games (just about every popular one) and the phenom II x6 outperforms the FX-8 in just about anything (im sure there are 1-2 synthetic benchmarks) that is multi-core optimized.

Ok, what? This is not right. The PII X6 does not outperform the FX-8 in "just about anything".

:nutkick:

All you did is paste the conclusion of the xbitlabs review. I fail to see where it says the Phenom II X6 is better than the FX 8150 in majority synthetics tests.

Even your OWN xbitlabs review doesnt support your wild claims:

Synthetic review only: FX 8150 vs Phenom II X6 1100T (xbitlabs.com)

SYS Mark 2012, FX-8150 wins
SYS Mark 2012 Office Productivity, FX-8150 wins
SYS Mark 2012, Media Creation, FX-8150 wins,
SYS Mark 2012, Web Development, Phenom II X6 1100T wins
SYS Mark 2012 Data/Financial analysis, FX-8150 wins
SYS Mark 2012 3D Modelling, Phenom II X6 1100T wins
SYS Mark 2012 System Management, FX-8150 wins

WinRar, FX-8150 wins
Itunes AAC encoding, FX-8150 wins
Photoshop, FX-8150 wins
Mathematic, Phenom X6 1100T wins
Photoshop, FX-8150 wins
x264 Encoding - 1 pass , Phenom II X6 1100T wins
x264 Encoding - 2pass, FX-8150 wins
3Dmax 2011 computing, FX-8150 wins
3DMax 2011 rendering, FX-8150 wins
Blender rendering, FX-8150 wins

According to your OWN xbitlabs review, out of 17 synthetic tests Bulldozer FX-8150 beats the Phenom II X6 1100T in 13 tests.

Results:
FX-8150 wins - 13
Phenom II X6 1100T wins - 4

Verdict. Bulldozer may sucks overall, but in synthetic tests the FX-8150 destroys the Phenom II X6 1100T (according to both xbitlabs and Techspot)

If you want to get down to real comparisons--the i5-2500[k] still is the best price\performance CPU in that review. It's cheaper than the FX-8150, and beats it in almost every test (22 - 2 actually). In terms of Cost\Performance, BD sucks.

Way to jump out the boat there.....you know this thread is called

Why don't you take you fanboyism away and let folks argue why other processors in AMD's range make BD look bad. Don't need Intel kicking us while we are down we can do that fine ourselves

So pointing out AMD released an inferior product in terms of cost\performance automatically makes me a fanboy?

If you want to stick directly to the exact topic, if AMD plans on marketting Zambezi Silicon as Phenom II's, I think it's shady as fuck. They should market it as Phenom III if anything. A Thuban-based Phenom II X6 will still beat a Zambezi-based Phenom II X6 in per-thread performance, so AMD will be selling people lower performance products as new higher-performance ones.

On to the subject though, its magical beans your getting sold here....

Not happening, the "Phenom II x8" does not exist.
Nope no Bulldozer will be called Phenom

So many websites now have pulled info from their (butts)...
We recently had the same, posted from Xbit:
Which is funny because this came after the thread I link below...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?277951-Phenom-x8-indecisive-AMD

1 week ago we concluded these were just entries for AMD FX-series Stepping B0 Engineering Samples. Hell, it even says B0 in the description. The model numbers correspond to Engineering Samples from 4-5 months ago...

The names correspond to the freq the ES was supposed to run at, that's all. They will never come out and articles like this show exactly what the media does to write around small bits of information...geniuses at ECS labeling these early ES's as "Phenom II X8" because apparently that's what they thought they would be.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?277788-Phenon-II-X8-ECS-bios-Update
Hey guys...

These CPUs will never see the light of day, please refer to the post RIGHT ABOVE yours. ECS elstupidoheads named them "Phenom II X8" on their CPU Support list, but they are AMD FX Engineering Samples, B0 stepping. ...retail was B2.

Thanks :D
Still laughing at the loads of people still thinking this may still become a reality still in any way, shape or form.

Still.
I know thanks and I always feel aboard a ship when I come here

OHH OOHH ECS and some other motherboard manufacturers are calling ENGINEER SAMPLES!!! Phenom II Processors oh ooooooooooooohhhh!!! THE SAVIOR OF MANKIND IS UPON US!!!

I request this article be renamed

"Anton and Wang Lei thinks Bulldozer Engineer Samples is the sign of the future Bulldozer products"

Hull.....

And that's just on this thread.....your chasing a unicorn, then berating the guy that owns the stable because the unicorn needs brushed down.
The stable guy knows there is no such thing as a unicorn...just some madman jumping up and down in a puddle shouting about it.

Stop giving AMD a hard time for something that's not real.

OMG they're going to sell Crippled Bulldozer FX 8 cores? I thought they already were crippled??

Bazinga!

Sorry AMD but I got excited when I first heard about Phenom II x8 CPU's coming out. I thought maybe they were going to continue with the K10.1(?) or whatever the PII architecture is called. You know continue where they left off with the hexacores. Die shrink, add two more cores, maybe even up the clocks even closer to 4GHz... But nope instead we get crippled cripples.

AMD going back to the Phenom brand name is a big mistake. Leave it behind and seperate it from the new AMD FX line. By AMD doing such a stupid move like this they will further confuse people that do not know that these "NEW" Phenom's are not reallly Phenoms :shadedshu

AMD Phenom II X8 2420 Seems to have PileDriver’s Specs
http://lenzfire.com/2012/01/amd-phenom-ii-x8-2420-seems-to-have-piledrivers-specs-83282/

I'm not sure what's wrong with all the people that keep fueling these rumors but there will never be a Phenom II X8 product on the market, and furthermore it does not have "Piledrivers specs". As far as I know, PD will be free from L3 cache as the performance benefits are little to none (think Llano and/or Athlon II vs Phenom II).

The problem here is in the ignorance and stupidity of the media and end users like us. VR-Zone is being retarded, showing a screenshot of a Bulldozer based Stepping B0 CPU on an archaic BIOS (with archaic microcode) that misreads L1 cache.

There will never be a Phenom II X8 CPU, I've said a hundred times now that ECS was being stupid when they listed support for early BD engineering samples in late April/May 2011 before it was decided to use "FX" as a series name for these CPUs.

i think AMD thinks that the Bulldozer FX branding has already got a bad image due to false ranting and noobish hatred. But the phenoms on the other hand have a good image till yet. hence they chose to use that as an advantage and give the trinity ones a fresh start.
