Should work. I'm lucky in that I have a side panel fan that can blow on my GTX 470s, they stay rather cool with help from my custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner like suggested above.
Strap that to the side or rear of your cards to assist the top card getting some cool air.
I put this fan under the second card, and got the temps of the first down by 6c. I also set fan speed via Afterburner to 100% if the load reaches 100% for both cards. I also have a 200m side fan, but without the air duct, which in result does very little.
One more question! Can i dedicate physx to the second card without enabling SLI???
