I set the mini map up on my second screen. Laptop should work just as well. Just go to the Battlelog page and sign in with any browser or you could use my "BF4 Browser Utility". :p

I have used my second monitor for battle screen, but I don't do it that often. Works just fine. While you are playing just click the Battle Screen button on the bottom right of battlelog.

Guess I could use my monitor for that, but was wanting to use a separate computer so I don't take any resources from my gamer. Is there a site that tells you how to set up both Monitor or Laptop? Now that I'm trying out a projector I'd like to have my laptop set up as my mini map and or just a browser while in game. I can hear the family already, God your a Nerd :slap:

There is no setup to be done. Just log into Battlelog on whatever device you want Battlescreen on and enable I when you are in game, the option won't show up until you are in game. Simple as that.

Battlefield 4 banned in China over national security

Summary: Chinese government outlaws the first-person shooter game, accusing Electronic Arts of developing content that threatens China's national security and is a form of cultural invasion.

By Liu Jiayi for View from China | December 27, 2013 -- 06:36 GMT (22:36 PST)

The Chinese government has officially banned first-person shooter game, Battlefield 4, calling out Electronic Arts (EA) for developing content that threatens the country's national security.
It also accused the U.S. game developer for depicting a form of cultural invasion, according to a PCgames.com.cn report Friday. China's Ministry of Culture issued a notice prohibiting all materials related to the game in any form, including game downloads, demos, patch downloads, and news reports.

Set in the year 2020, Battlefield 4: China Rising features a fictional war in China triggered by Admiral Chang with plans to overthrow the current government. His success will be supported by Russia, but will bring China to war with the United States which relationship with the Russian is tensed. The game showcases the U.S. military's fight against the coup and Chinese Liberation Army.

The ban confirms previous predictions about the fate of the EA game in China, after an earlier report in state-run newspaper China Military, said Battlefield 4 "smears China's image" and was a new form of "cultural invasion".

The word "ZhanDi4", the Chinese translation for Battlefield 4, is already censored on the country's biggest social media site Weibo.com, however, online users in China are still posting peer-to-peer download links of the game under its English names and acronym "BF4".

Released in October, Battlefield 4 is available in North America, Europe, Jana, Australia, and New Zealand, and was not officially launched in China.

Since its release, the game has been plagued with major technical bugs and glitches across all platforms it runs on including Microsoft Windows and Xbox, and Sony PlayStation. Last week, a class action lawsuit was filed against EA for allegedly issuing "materially false and misleading statements highlighting the purported strength" of the game's rollout. Filed by investors who bought the company's stock, the lawsuit accused EA of violating the Securities Exchange Act 1934 and artificially inflating its stock price by making the statements.

I tried it on a Nexus 7, only problem is it's draining the battery. But the fun part is playing commander from the tablet. Got 2500 points from my bed watching my dreadful team getting slaughtered.

On another note, has anybody bothered to play the campaign? What's the story, what are the Chinese doing in this?

What, there's a story? I wanted the M249. Fuck story :D

There's something about some chinese general or something doing something, which you have to prevent him from doing, and then there's the nigga who hates the chinese woman, who is a traitor and the next minute isn't, then there's something from BF3's story, and.... I basically got completely lost after playing it for an hour. Seriously. Ugh.

The story is fictitious. Fake politics, fake people, etc. Though the premise is about a leader who is pro-democracy, freedom of speech, etc. I'm surprised the game wasn't banned in China before it was released.

This would be funny if it weren't so pathetic. :shadedshu:

The Chinese government doesn't like video games. Or perhaps it doesn't like video games with a story based in China. As a result, Battlefield 4, the complete game got banned in China today. This blow to EA happened after the release of the DLC China Rising in China. And you will have to hold back a laugh if you read China's reason as to why the game was banned - "national security." A big LOL to that.

Battlefield 4's campaign takes place in 2020. Unlike the Call of Duty series, where the Russians are usually portrayed as the bad guys, EA decided to go ahead with a Chinese Admiral planning to take over the government. Guess the ruling power of China didn't find that funny. Oh well. BANNED.

The only thing I'm surprised is that they didn't do it before it was released. On the other hand imagine what would have happened if the Koreans were in it.
Kim would have taken it as a declaration of war.

The bigger question is who cares what they ban in China. Horrible human rights abuses by their government and a very brutal and arcane justice system that seems to flow on the whim of the Beijing and people are worried about the super rich in China not being able to pay Battlefield 4? Really? Maybe China is ashamed of the blatant stolen designs of the J-20? Who knows............who cares?

I hope one day the people get sick and tired of it and burn the regime to the ground. I always find it funny all the fear mongers in the US always talk about the "Rising Dragon" when the "Dragon" can't even feed its own people. Honestly I fear the centralization of Europe around Germany FAR more. Today its all unicorns and sunshine but, one day as history has proven COUNTLESS TIMES things in Europe tend to change fast. China can hardly maintain its "million man army" on its own mainland. I highly doubt they will be able to expand past any outlaying islands. Germany however has a knack for waging war at the right time. One day a leader will come and "unite" Europe fully. To many nations lately have been sacrificing their status as a true sovereign nation in the name of the EU and its only gonna get worse.

Says a guy from a country that eats 10% of shit that "brutal regime" produces and owes them a ton of money, pure hypocrisy.
Why would anybody "unite" Europe by force? Whole Poland is flushed with foreign brands and goods, practically there is not much stuff made in country these days, with exceptions of companies that used to be polish but are now owned by foreign corporations. EU is bad and good, I hate it on one side and love it when I drive a highway sponsored 95% by them.

Back on subject I think Chinese are just looking for excuses with such stuff to piss people off and show the world they can do it as they please.
This BF4 is no bigge, they recently ditched a patent for Gilead-NASDAQ medicine called Tenofovir lately (HIV,hepatitis antiviral) - a multimillion dollar cow in a country with millions of hepatitis patients.

Whole game. The messed up part is all the people in China that already bought the game can now not play online.

It wasn't for sale in China to begin with. It's a story that really doesn't matter to anyone here unless they live in China. Waiting to hear from someone in China about this...

Perhaps one day, our rising socialist class will take away our games featuring unicorns ans sunshine. When they decide we can't have anything nice. Bah, that's a boring political conversation. Don't need that here.

*Oh, merging with the BF4 thread... Like we do with BF4 threads.
