When you're building a system, where do you buy the parts, and why?

For me, it's:
Amazon - Prime, good pricing, great customer service, fast website
Newegg - ShopRunner, occasional good deals, great filtering tools for building a system
Ma Labs - harder to get an account here, but they ship super fast and offer quantity discounts
Best Buy (store) - Still the only place to buy a new laptop in my opinion

Newegg for major stuff, other sites like performance-pcs and jab-tech for other stuff, and we can't forget the forums' B/S/T sections, where many good deals can be had.

NCIX because they have low prices, weekly deals and if you find an other website that sells the same item at a lower price they will price match it. Websites like http://www.pricebat.ca/ and http://www.shopbot.ca/ are pretty useful. I have bought complete systems with all the components price matched.

I usually use NewEgg, Amazon and a few time TigerDirect for computer hardware. For water cooling supplies I use FrozenCPU and Performace-PCs.
I try to use Amazon more often now as their shipping to AK is cheaper. As there are no real computer component sellers near to me, I rely on on-line sources.

I price shop between Newegg, Amazon, Fry's, Microcenter, and TigerDirect. But if things are within a few bucks I'll generally go with Newegg simply because they get stuff to me so much quicker than the others and I have to pay tax at TigerDirect.

For common stuff I use one local online store because they have an absolutly awesome return policy(I'm really unlucky half the gpus I buy are broken so I use it a lot ) and they do same day shipping in my city. For everything else like watercooling gear g.skill ram and some other stuff I have another local online store.

I follow some rules:

1.If I couldn't find the product here, I buy at Amazon.
2.If I could find the product here but it is as expensive as if I import myself as an individual, then I will buy at Amazon.
3.If the product is available at a normal price and buying at Amazon will make me lose money then I find the cheapest price I can find online. And there's no favorite here, I will buy from the cheapest online store...

And buying at physical stores is not a good idea here, their prices is much higher. I prefer to wait 3-5 days and pay less instead.

And because I am not good with social interaction (I prefer to buy with no social interaction)...

I have an awesome local store but, I have bought stuff from Amazon, this ASUS Ultrabook, and NewEgg, the 2x4GB Kingston HyperX RAM in this Ultrabook.

I also plan on getting a Dual channel WiFi adapter, for this, from Amazon. Prices are great for an Intel 7260, that I want, there.

Mostly though, I go to the Local. My Socket A and a bunch of parts for it! Along with here, Thanks TPU-er's!
