I just got this cpu which seems to be nice for a duocore but only 1.86gig. Is this E série easy to overclock? What is à safe speed i could overclock it? Thanx

all depends on your cooling with proper cooling 2.50-3Ghz should be fairly easy to hit the limiting factor is gonna be cooling and the motherboard/ram as you will need to use FSB clocking to OC
lower the ram speed/divider one or two notches
increase the FSB 25Mhz at a time until the system wont post or its unstable make sure not to exceed the rated memory speed for your ram if you need to lower the ram speed/divider another notch to keep it in spec
I would not exceed 400Mhz FSB
PROPER COOLING IS A MUST WITH THESE CHIPS the stock cooler will take you to about 2.5Ghz beyond that aftermarket cooling is a must

I will go stock with a 120mm fan like Vortex 752 something like that. Old style.

I had an e6300 that could hit upwards of 3.5-3.6 ghz on air. You just need a good MB and some decent cooling. I was able to do that with an AC Freezer 7 Pro and an Asus P5B Deluxe (and a Gigabyte P35-DS3L). Tigger here on the forums I believe holds the record on TPU for an e6300... it was him that talked me into buying one seven years ago. Good little chips. Never let me down. Get a board capable of 450-550FSB and go for it!

Nice! Got it for free at local dumpster hehehe. Have also found a mobo from Intel that can overclock but need to repair the capacitors.

Hell I'm still using 775 myself. Try and push the FSB as high as you can go... the FSB link is rather slow, comparatively, and tends to be a kink in the hose...

I had an i7 920 at one time... I sold that stuff off thinking I was gonna get a 2600k or something with that and some funds out of pocket but I got this instead. Now my life has changed so much I just don't have money for high performance PC parts... and if I did there wouldn't be much point.

The board is a huge player in this game. From what I recall 500FSB was a sweet spot on my E6400, and with water cooling it would run stable at 4GHz. With the right board and as much cooling as you can offer, that chip could be a blast to overclock.
