edit: googling this again found me the answer, and my own old thread. Heres the answer i found years later:
The clone itself went well, but theres a hitch: the drive has been performing worse than it should and windows defragger gives a hint as to why... it thinks its still an SSD.
This is causing me issues, and i dont know how to convince windows its NOT an SSD.
anyone got clues on what files or registry settings control that? google is not helping on this one.
edit: i've decided to format it anyway, but would really like to find out what caused this and how to fix it - because it could clearly affect people cloning a mechanical to an SSD as well (defragging an SSD by default, etc)
