Anyone have any suggestions on how to cool this pc of mine down. It's in cased in an entertainment desk but still the backside is open for ventilation. My processer stays in the stage 2 where it would up like a rubberband. As I write this I'm running 101-106 deg's F.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.May have to start looking around for something more meaningful instaed of these 80mm fans which arent doing squat. im running 102 F on my laptop. seeing that you are on a p4, 106 should not worry you. if it really does though, buy an after market cooler for you cpu.

Alot of my games/applications are locking up.I keep this system in tip/top shape but this part is frustrating. If I was to O.C. it would only make it worse wouldnt it? I'll take you on your advice though. Thanks!! WASP

hmm have you tried creating a logfile of the temps? it would be good to see how much it heats up. actually do this, run something like prime and watch your temps, see how they get, at above 70C stop prime. im guessing you dust it to.....it could be an instability somewhere in the system. but yeah, you want to try prime and see if it gives you any problems, maybe a memory problem. and if it's still hot, you could also try undervolting the cpu. and yes...oc would probably make it worse. welcome.

If you're running that temp in Farenheight you're OK! That's like 39 or 40C I believe which is not horrible at all. Stock CPU coolers let CPU's idle around that temperature due to their minimalist design. Change your temp readout to CELCIUS and you'll see you're not too shabby yet, and it seems you're running a stock CPU cooler, so you're in the norm. You could reseat your CPU Cooler with some AS-5 or MX-1 to get some lower temps or get a better cooler. Also check out the cooling section in the link in my sig, it may help you out. Hope I've been of some help.

It also depends on your ambient temps. If it's say 80-90F in the room, it's safe to say that a temp of 101-106 is to be expected. You're not going to get temperatures below room temperature... unless you're running liquid nitrogen or something.
