CONFIG_ROM_FUSES 0x261 - last is 1!!! (1 = 1 pipeline quad is locked in the bios (12 pipelines))

so that means that i can unlock?

yes if you flash the wrong bios you can kill your card..

x850xt as long as your shure it's a r480 be shure to use a pcie bios.

use the moded flashrom

Connect3D X850Pro AGP VIVO @ 2.0ns

Its a Connect3D X850Pro AGP VIVO @ 2.0ns, purchased on 02 November '05.
The driver setup on the CD is dated August 5 '05 (the newest files in the driver DIR are 14 September '05). Seems very new. I have heard of this in an other Forum, that very new Cards seem too have the 2.0ns modules, could be because they now wont to sell the X1xxx Family cards.
I got this card at www.xada.de because they had trouble geting a hold of the MSI card I orderd and so offerd me this card, since it was on stock (unfourtunatley they werent abel to tell me what speed the memory is, even though they tried and I can understand that they didnt wont to ripp open all the packages to look).

DarkTrooper, if you can return that card and look for older X850PRO VIVO (AGP) wich is originally build to be XT or XT PE (CAN be modded) but something does wrong after assembling of the card and the producer turns it to PRO VIVO.

In the last days some producers want to make a clean sweep of available R480's and "invent" X850PRO VIVO with 2.0ns memory and locked cores on AGP which means that we should choose very carefully .

Flashed to 16pp with flashrom and BIOS from this Page. I was scared when I saw the fuses date in ATiTool first, but then remembered that the Pic showed in flash instructions was from X850XT PE . Checked the "F's" another time and : wow! Flash success.

You aren't going to get 16 pipelines by flashing the bios. I looked at your picture of the fuses data that you posted and your bios already does not have any pipelines disabled there. Based on that, I'd say with 100% certainty that they are locked in the hardware.

Use one of the bioses from this thread: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=6056 While using any X850 bios will get the performance boost I mentioned, the ones I posted I know to use the same fan speeds and memory timings as your card (especially the one that is just a modded Powercolor X800 GT bios), so they are least likely to cause you problems.

Thanks to all for all the great info on here, it truly was a deciding factor when I purchased my card.

I have an ATI X850Pro AGP. Bought this from ebay from dealtree techstore on 11/2/05 (just do a search for x850pro and a ton will pop up). It was an openbox item (looks like it was a Best Buy return based on the "Best Buy" inspection tape on the box). These cards have been going for $175-$190 and there are plenty on there. Looks like I lucked out and got an unlockable one. The fifth charachter in Die fuses is F, and the last charachter in subrate is F. Last number in ROM fuses is 1.

from what I understand, alot of the newer cards are comming Die on locked. If you are looking, don't be afraid to take a chance on open box items, as most have been returned to and inspected by ATI. Just make sure that the seller has a fairly liberal return policy just in case.

I havent tried to unlock yet, but I will soon and I will post the results. Thanks again to all of you modders that help noobs like me get the most for my money

yah i'm with shadowflare but i don't agree with him for the same reasons i think yours won't unlock cause gt's rarely do but i'm not 100% so i'd say don't give up yet

don't use a x800xt/pro bios on that they use a different core use a x850 so there is no chance of getting a bad flash. (make shure it's a pcie x850 though )

so you already tried the x850 and it didn't unlock the pipes and your are shure you used the moded flashrom? if this is true then i'd say you are screwed sry dude
