Hi

i did interesting review between gtx470 vs gtx560 ti at their reference clocks

in 9 games

GTX470@ 607Mhz
GTX560Ti@823Mhz

and the system used in these test is

Q9550 @4.2
Gigabyte EP45-DS4P
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB)
FSP FX 600W
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

both GPUs with the latest driver 280.26

then i overclocked the cards , GTX560 Ti@1Ghz i think its equal GTX570 at this clock as this review tell here
and the GTX470@900Mhz i know its massive

here is some GpuZs after Oc

i did all the tests in 1920X1080 res and i maxout every game to its limit in each test

here are the results

While this is very insightful, you seemed to have duplicated your post. You may want to edit that so people don't become confused.

Nice user review man, I think it could be improved with some GPU-Z screenshots of the OC settings, list full system specs and the driver suite you were running for the tests too. perhaps even some commentary and/or conjecture about your results. numbers are numbers but your opinion and insight is welcome here too :)

great overclock on the GTX470, nye on 50% faster for the core, that's nothing to sneeze at. my GTX570 runs 900 core happy as a clam but probably much faster than a GTX470 on the memory (4400mhz effective) which is why I'd love to see some GPU-Z screenies.

thumbs up from me man ! :toast:

Nice review, great benching. I would suggest adding which drivers your using along with a complete system specs.

The two largest factor not considered were heat and power. The 560 gains back some ground by using less power and not being as hot.

Hope you keep reviewing and doing what you like!

curious, did you have to downclock the memory on the 560 Ti to get 1000mhz core stable? just seems a bit weird, my Gigabyte GTX460 happily runs 900 core and 1100mhz memory.

this is kinder oki, i think since GTX470 is a bit highere class than where the GTX560Ti should be, but they r pretty close, but srsly a nice review coco10 ^^

Well the GTX470 OCed much muuuch furter on the core(compared to stock) than the 560ti and it was only natural for it to perform better. At stock they were pretty close tho

I got my gtx470 when it came out, and used it up until the 6970 was released, and it OC'd so champion. I loved that card. Never let me down, even with metro 2033 and crysis. It now sits in my nvidia collection. I just recently got two 480's and I love them too. Great cards. They were so powerful for their time.

because GTX470 known as beast overclocking :D
for some reason nVidia downclock the gtx470s thats why any GTX470 at least can hit 800mhz

Coco, Can you post a pic of MSI Afterburner, because you didnt state if you changed the voltage, and by how many, and also, if you had to set the fan on 100%, because I heard it is unbearable loud. How hot was it? I plan to take a GTX470 so Iam really interested in answer :D... And did you take it to 900 MHz (which is really insane OC, not obtainable by a majority of GTX470s) clock speed with reference cooling?

It is possible, but you will need a solid chip. Most 470s do about 800-850 regardless of voltage. I have four of them and they can at most do around 750 in Quad-SLi. Here is what a good one can do:

Wow... But I guess the noise is hardcore?

Is it possible to obtain good Oc with fan on auto... And is it very loud on stock settings?

Well, yeah, if you can stand the noise of both a mobile AC and a bunch of Deltas at %100, I guess it is bit of "hardcore". :D The noise of a single card would not bother in a case though. IIRC, they boost up their fans at 70 or 85C to %80, where it starts to get loud. Not loud like GTX 480 loud, but still has that leaf blower effect. To say, heat is not much of an issue with these cards. Regardless, I would still suggest these cards. They pull less power than their higher counterparts even when they are OCed to give just as good performance. 470s are my favourite cards next to 3 GB 580s which I could not afford. I bought these used for $150 each so you can guess. Anyway, I have them under a modded Reserator so heat is not much of an issue anymore.

For your average OC'er a high 700s is about all they'll get out of a GTX 470. A GTX 560 Ti will easily get 975-1000 Mhz for anyone with Afterburner installed. In most circumstances it will be a little faster (than the GTX 470).

yes dear i flashed m bios to rise extra voltage more than what afterburner do
without flashing the bios the max i got stable was 875Mhz
i got a nice chip that's why its OC that well . about the temp i got after market vga cooler the ZALMAN VF3000F its ve quiet cooler even at full speed its quiet and veer acceptable

No, it won't. Even at 800, the 470 is still faster. It has more ROP's/shaders/vRAM, memory bandwidth and so on. It is built on a stronger GPU unlike the 560 which is budget-oriented. There are bigger gains from OC'ing the 470 than OC'ing the 560 Ti.
