I have been following this thing fairly close via ISM. This wheel is aimed at the hardcore sim market and this thing beats all wheels under $500 when it comes to force feedback strength, realism, response time, and precision steering. In these categories the thrustmaster is more in the league of hardcore sim hardware, not a competitor for G25/27 this is very much a step above.
When u compare the feature sets and hardware of lower end wheels (less than $400) to that of hardcore sim setups (more than $1500) you realize that the Thrustmaster is fairly priced for the performance you will get.
Not sure if it was mentioned but I thought it would be good info to have on the table..
* PS3+PC compatible (no 360)
* PC drivers still in the works
* No H-shifter in package (will be released "down the road") no price announced
* Extremely powerful forcefeedback (150 mNm torque, 3000 rpm, 65 W, 52mm)
* 30cm in diameter
* Resolution of 16 bits (65,536 values in the address)
* Rotation up to 1080º
* Easy pedal mods
* Pedals apparently not quite as realistic as Fanatec CLBS
If you are a hardcore sim driver or hardcore FFBW type of guy this wheel gets you as close to serious sim hardware performance for a fraction the typical price. I think there is a nice little niche market for this piece. For those looking at the Fanatec line-up this could be a nice little step up if you wanna bite the bullet.
