$1000 Black Friday budget

Hey Y'all, so I've been doing some online shopping getting my cart ready for Black Friday possible deals. My current budget is $1000 including taxes for a new computer. I'm not to fancy with the tech but I know I will be using it mostly for graphic intense gaming (Black Desert/Lost Ark etc). I also know that I want it to be DX12 compatible and I haven't been hearing good things about Nvidia's DX12 running. Thanks in advanced for any advice and help given!

Some things to note:
I don't necessarily believe I need an i7 processor
I will be using an Acer G257HU 25" monitor (2560x1440)
I believe 8GB ram should suffice

The AMD/Nvidia DX12 issue is mostly just speculation at this point
i5 is fine
Overclock at all?
Country you live in?
Does the budget include a OS and monitor?

I'm thinking of overclocking maybe to 4.2GHz, USA, budget does not include an OS but will most likely be windows 10. Monitor is ~$250 so I'll be keeping the budget $1000 just for the tower.

I was looking towards getting EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 4GB

IDK about which case yet, but it will be a mid because i won't be using a full.

Well with the GTX 970 you will be over budget. Unless you drop the CPU and Motherboard to an 1150 Haswell and maybe a Pentium or i3
I have done that it does work. Then later upgrade the CPU?

well if i were to keep the i5-6600k, what would be the next best graphics card to suit that?

Also, remember the current prices of the items will run about $1500 give or take, and black friday will of course drop these prices down.

It jumps by $100 in both Nvidia and AMD

The R9 380 is $230 I dont think the R9 380X is out yet

i5 and a R9 with 8gb of ddr3 ram.. Can't go wrong. And always remember when building a computer. Cut money from any component except the PSU. Get the best PSU possible for that config, 30% more powerful then what the psu calculator will recommend you. Above 50% you will have higher energy bill's then necessary.

Btw...Black Desert,is a mess. I tried it on a asian server with english patch. Lots of tutorials on the net for this...I though it would be the most amazing mmorpg. It's not. It will keep you focused for some time if you have a friend for co-op. Sadly i don't.
