2 very low end cards that have 2xDVI each will do the job, just make sure they dont try to crossfire/Sli themselves.

then naturally a board with at least 2xpci-e, and with low end cards you wont need an especially beefy psu

its easy as mate.

Nope, since I'm not sure. I don't know if a triplehead to go can create three separate monitors. I know it can create one big one.
Besides, it would be more expensive than buying a cheap secondary card.

To elaborate on what DantheBanjoMan suggested, with the motherboard you have picked (the Asus P5E Deluxe), you could run the 8800GT in the first PCI-E slot which would power the monitors 1 & 2, and a lower-end card such as the 8400 in the second PCI-E slot which would power monitors 3 & 4 (or even in a regular PCI slot if you so desire).
Since they are both nVidia chipset cards they should not have driver conflicts, you could do your autoCAD and 3D design as the 8800 has the power for it, and the 8400 serves just to add additional monitors

Does that make sense?

What amount of memory and bandwidth would i need to power the 2 x22" off the second Card,

XFX for lifetime warranty ^___~ plus when they do warranty they send you brand new retail package not refurbished cards like other companies.

I believe they are about the same in 3d performance but the 8800GT does pull ahead in gaming due to the extra shaders.

Bandwidth really isn't an issue. And the "256" you speak of isn't bandwidth either, it's memory. For 1680x1050@32 bit colors you need just under 7MB video memory. Buffers and the likes can increase this, but nowhere near 256MB, or even 128 or 64. Of course there are two screens that do effectively double the memory required.

Then again, considering cheap cards contain 128/256MB as well, it should be fine to just pick those.

I run 4 monitors on my workstation for the last year, i have a x1300 ATI pci card and a 8800gts, but i have even changed the 8800gts to a 8500gs and it ran fine, so who is ever telling you that you need lots of horsepower, that is completely wrong....

Nice, i have a ATI card is well in my current system, Its good to know that i can run an ATI card and a NVIDIA without any issue's.

Well for those brands you should just pay attention to their cooler and the warranty. Just avoid those very strange brands.
