So Im almost done with my build..

I'll eventually get both but which should I get first?

1TB HDD
or
60GB SSD

I'll only use the SSD for OS and note my MOBO only has SATA 2

Well it depends, do you need to stock data on the HDD right now?

Anyway, right now, the 60gb doesn'T worth it.. I would grab a crucial MX100 128gb or 256gb, which is less than 135$ :D

Nope I have external HDDs so I dont really have the need to stock up right now.. I will use the SSD just for os :3

Well, grab the SSD first, as your os will befaster.

But like I said, look for a minimum of 128gb, the 64gb doesn'T worth it anymore, for me..

you can have for 20$ more, a 128gb in most case :)

Just Windows and all the updates take more than half of that SSD.

If you don't need the extra space, I think you'll certainly appreciate the SSD. If you're worried you might run out of space (aka you plan to install more than, like, 3 games and/or movie/music storage), I'd suggest either throwing down for a larger SSD or just going for the mechanical.

I don't think the mechanical drive will be too big of a step down for performance. Windows 8 did a rather good job of reducing boot time and making mechanical drives feel snappy. I wouldn't completely rule out a modern platter spinner just because you're looking for performance.

i cant see anything less than 256gb ssd being worth it as a os drive with some games and apps on there too..
250gb is about the size i would buy for my os drive if i could affoard it.. that should be just about enough space for the os stupid updates. games and apps that insist on going to c: and dont let you change the directory. and some faves that you use all the time so will benefit from the ssd. for standard storage i just stick to mechanicals for now untill ssd come down in price, or hybrids come with 256gb nand + 700Gb or so mechanical.

I have windows on a 32gb drive, that does nothing but crunching. I stripped down the os to under 10gb. It has hardly anything installed on it, so it works. On a family members pc I installed a 64gb ssd because it essentially was a terminal to the internet where he would occasionally store some files. I could of also used a 32gb ssd with no issues here also. For myself I play games, and I have a 256gb ssd, and I have 111gb free. Most of the data used is from games.

Depends on what your using it for, but even a 32gb ssd is fine for windows.

No point in an SSD below 120GB.

1. Price to GB ratio on those lower drives are awful
2. Performance of the lower GB drives is meh
3. Won't be able to fit as much as you think on it.

Go for a 120GB-128GB.

That depends on what you use your system for and even if your a gamers you could make it work even more so if you got a HDD too as you can tell windows to save my docs stuff to another drive.

80Gb is about the lowest i would go but again my laptop only has a 60GB SSD and that's way more than it needs.
