Accessing HP Accelerometer

I have an HP Elitebook with 3D Driveguard installed. Does anyone know how I could access the accelerometer and get a read out? I can think of lots of different uses for this data, but mostly I just think it'd be really cool

Best place to look is at HP's site. Hopefully they expose the API functions which they used to write the Driveguard utility. Otherwise it could be a lot more complicated and involve running the tool and examining the system memory. If the utility loads a DLL there may be functions that you can get access too. You can get a list of the functions included in a DLL using the dumpbin command in VS or Dependency Walker.

Thanks! Looks like this is way over my head though. I was hoping maybe someone had already written a program or something. I'll leave it to the CSes to do that.
