Accessing HP Accelerometer

I have an HP Elitebook with 3D Driveguard installed. Does anyone know how I could access the accelerometer and get a read out? I can think of lots of different uses for this data, but mostly I just think it'd be really cool :laugh:

Best place to look is at HP's site. Hopefully they expose the API functions which they used to write the Driveguard utility. Otherwise it could be a lot more complicated and involve running the tool and examining the system memory. If the utility loads a DLL there may be functions that you can get access too. You can get a list of the functions included in a DLL using the dumpbin command in VS or Dependency Walker.

Thanks! Looks like this is way over my head though. I was hoping maybe someone had already written a program or something. I'll leave it to the CSes to do that.
